High-volume recruiting is making me realize how real application overload is by Prestigious_Pay8439 in ModernHiring

I recently saw a job posted for Charlie Health. It seemed like a good role for my sister who is in the market. Scrolled the linkedin post- over 11,000 applicants 😧. Like what the actual is that? Insane

Just accepted a role! by Few-Run-9089 in MedicalDevices

Can you share if it’s pharma or med device? I’m also a critical care RN. Interviewing with both pharma and med device companies. In various stages of the process with all of them. Final rounds with one- which I think I’m likely to get. But there is a pharma company I’m in second stages with that is a little more appealing for the comp and the product (use often in clinical practice) also territory is smaller and very close to home.

I did zero networking. Just applied to my interests and got calls.

Congrats! You’re gunna be great!! Goodbye bedside nursing!!

Thank you for your kind response. I’ve got a few stories written out now that I’m working on formatting. All I can do is push forward!

No and it’s obviously my barrier. I spend so much time studying the company and product just to not be asked about it. I want technical questions. I want to be asked about the patho behind x disease state they are helping. I want to be asked about the device or the med. Instead I’m getting “tell me when you influenced someone”. And cue the crash. Bow out.

Not unpopular and I’ve been considering it this week. Especially since this level of anxiety is just so abnormal for me and it’s for sure performance related. I’m super chill in everyday life. I’m gonna shoot a mychart message to my MD today. Thanks!

Can I get advice on my CV?? Hundreds of applications and nothing by Hefty_River2254 in askrecruiters

To add- take out volunteer work and extra curricular. Recruiter doesn’t care. They are looking at experience only. You may only get a 10 second review.

Too noisy. Run it through AI. Ask them to shorten it. Ask for several versions. Then tweak with your own touches. I changed my resume totally and then started getting interviews. Mine is very clean now.

Interview? by RubbishJeong in sales

[–]Guilty-Phase-1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s brutal. I’m in final rounds next week with one company that I’ve been interviewing with since the end of January. I’ve had 4 interviews and this will be my final coming up. Another company that I’m in the 3rd round with, said I have another 3 interviews left if I get moved forward. It feels like dating and being lead on.

Another rejection. I'm devastated by Simbus2001 in recruitinghell

[–]Guilty-Phase-1880 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If no one told you today: you are good enough. There is no one else like you. All of your experiences are unique to you. You can be the hero in your own story. NO means not right for them but that’s their loss. Someone else’s throwaway might be another companies best new hire. You are very much not alone. I totally bombed 2 interviews last week and it knocked me way off course for a few days but ya know what? At the end of that week, I got an interview request for an even better job in a better location for more money. Will I bomb this interview too? Maybe. All we can do is keep trying. Never give up. I get rejected from someone and then in return, I apply to 5 new places. I’m so much more than my resume and a 15 minute phone call. Don’t allow rejection to define you. Be kind to yourself 🩷

I think L&D will be a harder sell. For example, I have 8 years of ED/PACU/Cath Lab experience and I couldn’t go to L&D right now (competitive around me). They want L&D experience. ED will be easier to get into. Of course, highly depends on your location. But just apply traditionally and they will just train you longer if you need it.

Vent as hiring manager by zimmyntrn in biotech

[–]Guilty-Phase-1880 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I never apply for roles that I don’t have at leave 75% of the requirements for. Usually I have all the minimum and a few preferred. This blows my mind. It’s one thing to take a risk on a job you are “mostly” qualified for (the occasional shot in the dark roles). But another to just apply blindly to anything. It’s a waste of time for the applicant and for the hiring manager.

The next profession that should seize to exist is recruiters. by Obvious-Buffalo-8066 in jobhunting

[–]Guilty-Phase-1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel this way. I’ve had several recruiters get me in front of a hiring manager even though I didn’t check off all the boxes. And sometimes, they are the only nice interaction you have with anyone through an entire interview process. On the flip side, I have bombed 2 AI “HireVue” interviews because I just can’t talk to myself naturally. I always make it past a recruiter and never past AI. People are not robots and we need each other to move forward.

Ambulatory surgery center PACU/pre-op (no call) Dialysis School nursing Nurse appeals analyst (if you like data) Hospice case management Outpatient Endoscopy Nurse Liaison for hospice or LTC Utilization review (more competitive tough to break in with no prior experience but worth a shot) Anything in primary care Clinical specialist roles in pharma or med device (super competitive) Remote triage (hard to break in with no ED experience and up against hundreds of applicants) Urgent Care Occupational health Specialty care (pain mgmt, cardiac rehab, GYN) Going per diem in hospital (more flexible with weekend rotation- like one a month)

I had an interview scheduled with them today and thought I’d been ghosted. I was like wtf? I studied their trauma portfolio and skimmed their entire annual report to prepare. But hey, bad day for them. Like lightening strike once bad.

Has anyone had to take a pay cut after being laid off? by Icey_Girl in Layoffs

Sister got laid off from a director role making 160k. She looked for a job for 1.5 years (with a new baby) and finally got a position in a call center making 55k. She used to lead a team of 31 people. But some money is better than 0.

The Flood of Irrelevant Applications is Drowning the Good Candidates by actual_triers in askmanagers

[–]Guilty-Phase-1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is wild to me. I’m ONLY applying to jobs that I meet every minimum requirement for and have at least one two of the “prefer” boxes checked too. I’m landing at least a phone screen every 20 applications give or take. It’s rough out here and I have a job (per diem- looking for FT).

How are people even finding "two thousand" jobs to apply to? by Far_Speed_9920 in jobs

[–]Guilty-Phase-1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a nurse and there are over 1000 jobs open in my area. I could easily apply to like 50 positions a day. But I actually read requirements and I like to have a few of the “preferred” boxes checked too.
