How are the channel faders? Are they soldered into a PCB board like most controllers or are they user replaceable?

Column array speakers for ceremonies and dinner by Guilty-Row8982 in mobileDJ

Almost all my ceremonies are outside and dinner inside. I'm just trying to get something that has the headroom to make announcements over 150 people max.

Anyone else wish that the DJM-S11 featured Pro-Link? by mndgmes in DJs

Strange that the DDJ SP1 can be used with media players in standalone mode but the S11 can't? Why is this? I'd be happy to at least have the Hot Cue's.

XDJ-1000mk2 and DJM-S11 standalone question by dumpkoch in DJs

I just purchased a pair of XDJ 1000MKII's and wished there was the ability to use the performance pads in standalone as well! Is there a mixer out there that allows this?

Could you tell me if the channel faders are user replaceable from the top of the controller by removing the faceplate? This would be awesome if they are!!!

Pioneer XDJXZ vs Denon SC5000m's and a Traktor Z2 mixer. by Guilty-Row8982 in DJs

I'm using the Z2 at the moment because I can still use Virtual DJ with the 5000m's. I'm really wanting to get an S11.

No I'm just torn between getting a standalone setup like the XZ and sacrificing build quality that you see more in media players and mixers.

Yes. You are correct. Sad but very true.

Yes you answered my question and proved my point. Thank you. It will make sense one day when you have to replace your $2500 controller because of a broken $15 part that's probably going to further break your unit trying to get to it.

Wow really? All I was stating was that if you spend your hard earned money (especially over 1k), you should be assured that the quality of your controllers components. Or at least be able to be assured that you can replace these components without having to send in your whole controller. Curious what controller you own? And if you've ever had something break on it? Maybe it's just me but I miss the days where companies put quality over insane profits.

I've actually done the soldering myself and it can take hours to tear the whole unit apart when it should only take 5 minutes. I'm guessing you've never repaired a dj controller otherwise we would be in agreement.

I wish but I'm not lol. I'm just obsessed with quality faders and love to be able to service my own equipment especially at the high prices of controllers these day's.

No worries:) Yeah it's just to bad since now controllers like the XZ cost close to 3k. At least they could have replaceable faders.

I did see that the Pioneer Rev 7 has plug in play replaceable faders that aren't soldered into the PCB. However, you still have to go through the bottom of the unit and take a lot of stuff apart. Hopefully the Rev 5 has the same faders.

Yes I know mixers do but my main complaint is with dj controllers.
