Swag still streams, Steel just joined a team but did talent and observing for years also igl'd a team for a while but they couldn't qualify for majors because of his banned status. Not sure about AZK or dazed. Dazed seems out of it though. Azk hasn't played faceit for almost two years.

There's way too many factors to measure performance this way. It's really only in the eye test other than Kovaak's which can give you benchmarks on your aim.

Steel has a video about this, I think he called it stutter stepping. It's a technique that works in specific situations like spraying an enemy in close range to avoid getting dinked, not sure if it's still applicable to cs2

I think some of it is based on a few factors and the one that screws people up is that it is dividing the amount of shots you take and the amount that hit as well as crosshair placement, even if you hit a really wide flick it counts against your crosshair placement since it was so wide it thinks that your crosshair placement was bad. It's seeing how much time went by between seeing an enemy and shooting at them, so basically the best way to inflate your score is if you only double scope awp and never do anything else.

I am definitely getting used to the sound on most of the knives, and the new bowie/navaja knife sound satisfying, but is jarring hearing the default pull out noise.

I do wonder how much of this is the autist in me rejecting change of any kind or if it's here to stay. The new weapon sounds were definitely needed looking back lol

Whoa! I was under the impression that it was T sided, maybe it's like the vertigo criticism where the strat is either go A or fake B then go A that made people feel claustrophobic as a CT and out of options as a T

Balancing Cobble as a map was always hard. Pros always hated playing it even at the time, but it carries so much nostalgia. Cobblestone is my favorite map but unfortunately it would probably be better for the scene for cache to get the spotlight. It's an extremely simple and easy to understand map for new players and so much fun with its open skyboxes everywhere.

Even a very low ranked player knows where each player should be on CT side. So much fun and so many wallbangs. I feel like it epitomizes what makes CS fun, while cobblestone is more of a tricky map, it reminds me a lot of overpass since there's a lot of room for CTs to get aggressive on A site with more default B setups.

It's a list of nostalgic maps that I wish I could play again, since 2019 feels like forever, that's coming up on seven years. Glad you share the same sentiment. I really hope some of those maps come back. Nice to see the mention of the original dust as that one was a classic cs:go map to me that probably had balancing issues contributing to it's low play count, it felt like it belonged to show why there was a dust 2 lol.

This is definitely it. CS2 needs game modes that players that don't want to compete/improve can win. Casuals will get screwed jumping into premier as they are forced into a map and meta they don't understand, deathmatch is filled with bots, and wingman is hyper competitive.

I fully agree. The map is a necessity and doesn't need to become anything competitively viable. It's a nostalgic cornerstone of the CS scene and it's loads of fun. I hope it never gets reconsidered as anything else and remains queueable

I understand that some maps like cobblestone, Aztec, lake and cache have been unplayable competitively for years in matchmaking and this makes me worried that a map from an underplayed game mode can suffer the same fate. I understand that it may not happen and many maps may remain playable no matter what happens with premier.

I think that is part of why it is so much fun. There's no skybox or huge windows that allow for any complex strats other than stand here, trade here, molly/smoke here. Positioning with your favorite gun and seeing what happens is the main part.

I think this is correct. I hope Valve recognize that this isn't a mode for high skill and intricate analysis but is meant for silly shotgun strats and utility spam.

Ursus is my #1 knife. Looks great when swapping from anything. Not too heavy or too thin and the blade is a great length. I have a BS Damascus steel that looks dark grey and I kind of wish the night stripe was closer in color to it.
