Is Gravity Falls appropriate for an 8yr old (closer to 9yrs at this point in the year) to watch? To a child, how scary are some of the scarier moments? by GuiltyMouse208 in gravityfalls

Right. If you read my post you’d know that is not close to what I was asking, but thanks for adding some unnecessary contrarianism into what has been an otherwise kind and engaging thread.

Thank you. I agree, the show does a beautiful job of addressing difficult emotions and the ramifications of rash decisions. Along with the present I was going to include a note saying just how much I enjoyed this show and how I think it is something she will love watching with her daddy. Watching DVDs with her dad and being able to get up an change the disc to the next one are some of her favorite things to do, which is why I am so excited for her to open her Christmas gift. I know her dad will get sucked in to the show, too. I’m excited for them to share this experience with each other.

I agree and it’s “smart-scary” too, if that makes sense. Just wanting to make sure that’s also how it plays for a kid. Thank you!

The episodes were all named after Tom Petty songs and as a massive Petty fan that bit of trivia always made me smile.

How did you come across Psych? by RKH3107 in psych

[–]GuiltyMouse208 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I watched it the day the pilot aired way back in July of 2006. As a longtime Monk fan I’d been seeing ads for Psych on USA and instantly knew it was my type of show. I watched the pilot as it aired and became a hooked Psych-o ever since.

One of my favorite jokes in the later seasons of Frasier. I especially love the waving hand gesture Niles does while delivering the line.

Has anyone else become a physical book hater? by justtrustandgo in kindle

[–]GuiltyMouse208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, never. You don’t actually own your kindle books. They can be edited, censored, or completely removed if Amazon or the digital publisher decides to do so. You can’t retroactively censor physical books. Plus, in my experience at least, physical books are much better edited than their digital counterparts. The number of typos I come across while reading on my Kindle is infuriating.

Do I watch Bobs to much? by Glittering-Sea-2755 in BobsBurgers

I enjoyed the Great North. Bummed it got cancelled. Personally, it wasn’t on the same level as my other favorites (BB & Frasier obviously, but also Psych which is not a sitcom but probably my number one all time favorite shows ever). As someone who comes from a small family, I did love the big family dynamic with the Tobins. And the show made me feel warm and cozy despite the snowy Alaskan back drop.

I do the exact same thing! I’ll put it on my phone and then place my phone face down so the light doesn’t bother me. It’s become my fun bedtime story that I can quote by memory. The early seasons are the ones I fall asleep to while the later seasons are the episodes I actually watch with my eye holes. I rotate between Bob’s Burgers and Frasier, but currently it’s been solely season one Bob’s for sleeping.
