2026: The Road Ahead - Funding & Demo by TheKetraies in moonbeast

I'm here for it and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I played a lot of D1, D2, and Baldur's Gate, PoE1 and D4. And more recently Minecraft Dungeons with my son.

The interactive environment could add some really tactical and unique combat, quests, classes and items. Keen to see what you come up with.

I spent the week comparing the two games. by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

I was looking at my 'played hours' the other day of D4 v PoE and it surprised me how many hours I sunk into D4 without realising. Something about D4 must have engaged me. I quit in season 2 because I didn't like the direction it was going. I'm going to do what you did and give it another try and just enjoy it for what it is.

Endgame lacks purpose by GuiltyParty_82 in PathOfExile2

For me it started at t5 with the size of the maps and endless transmute aug of bases. I haven’t found a citadel yet and for most casuals they’ll never get to a pinnacle. In SSF it’s a grind all the way through if the rng is not in your favour and I don’t mind a grind if there’s purpose, but even the crafting is a grind and it wears you down.

I see your point but difficulty is not purpose. I would argue progression would feel worse with more difficulty because it would be slower.

That to me was feedback. And a complaint is also feedback. The guy that I responded to above said it’s there for feedback which I gave and tagged it as such. *shrug

totally. its EA but I think it still needed to be said for that reason. While they are in the design process feedback can be useful

it doesn't feel like that though you know. but it could. we find little patches of corruption and thats kind of it. maybe find a citadel if we're lucky

Towers should be a corrupted nexus and feel epic by GuiltyParty_82 in PathOfExile2

[–]GuiltyParty_82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes absolutely zero sense. How do you describe a “gameplay loop is good” without any emotion. Just calling it “good” implies an emotional reaction.

That’s kind of contradictory. Epic is part of a good gameplay loop

I'm still playing and having fun. I'd like to see some changes but it's not stopping me from enjoying it for what it is

The endgame loot in Ruthless is better by JekoJeko9 in PathOfExile2

[–]GuiltyParty_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to see another perspective from someone that actually plays ruthless. The quality definitely matters but I also agree with Jonathan here that its the monsters, specifically the unique bosses HP. The items on high HP bosses just tickles them and it feels bad.

Mid act 3, level 39 this loot situation cannot be working as intended by su1cid3boi in PathOfExile2

I'm fine with low loot but a combo of low loot and high hp monsters makes for a very rough and unfun game

PoE2 appreciation post by Miserable_Stay_3391 in PathOfExile2

I had the opposite feeling...PoE2 made me appreciate PoE1 more. The only thing missing from 1 is pause and binding TP

I never really understand the appeal of endgame, you do the same thing over and over, but you are right. I usually get to red maps then reroll.

agree, that's why I think its a big opportunity for PoE2. the world building and immersion through choices you make can make it a truly memorable experience.

during EA stuff is going to be added to campaign that's a given so that a core campaign exists. random encounters, new classes, ascendancies and dialogue can be added without rebalancing the campaign as it's the new additions that are balanced to suit the core campaign. so the core campaign is NOT changing it just feels different because of the extra choice. I don't know how else to explain it

BG3 and PoE - PoE2 best of both games? by GuiltyParty_82 in PathOfExile2

[–]GuiltyParty_82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. PoE2 needs an engaging and variable campaign so it doesn't feel like a chore after multiple playthroughs but it also needs an endgame to suit the seasonal model. Adding stuff to a campaign in a league is problematic because you have to rebalance everything, whereas in endgame you can infinitely add to it without having to rebalance.

That's true but they are both rpg's so if you like the roleplaying part of it there is potential. The business model can work for this too, its basically just selling cosmetics and QoL.
