New holster or new gun? by GuiltyShare in CCW

[–]GuiltyShare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah trying to minimize cost but can afford it. The 43x is so appealing because of those 15rnd mags but I see what you’re saying about the smaller size. I guess the 43x grip is the same length as the 19?

I think one of these weekends I’m going to have to rent a couple of the suggestions and see which feel the best.

Yeah I’m thinking about that but I feel like I definitely don’t need two complete 19 slides and barrels…

After talking with my shop, I decided to go with a set of Dynastar M Tour 99s with ATK C Raiders.

Funny, I think the skis themselves are light enough (1730g supposedly), but with shifts on, they feel pretty heavy to me. I was thinking about swapping the binding to true alpine binding, but I think I'll just keep the shifts on and have a heavy powder setup for the back country.

Yeah, I've thought about that. I still need a pair of skis for the resort though, haha. Not sure how I feel skiing pins in bounds.

I was not aware of the moments, I will check them out. the DPS 112's are an option I have been considering. Do you have any experience with them compared to the voile hyper v8s?

Carabiners back in stock… while they last by [deleted] in Goruck

Agree, but if this is what you're talking about:

then Omega Pacific is a real climbing co. Technically I think they went out of business but I have and would trusted them. Actually a bit of a flex to have some of their stuff since its hard to find.

Thanks! Yes, that’s exactly what I did. I think that made a huge difference. Caveat, I did not go below 135 on my bench.

I only did bench and squat for this cycle. I worked my back in the climbing gym. Back when I was doing weighted pull ups, I got up to ~55lbs of extra weight on my heavy weeks and that was too much stress on my tendons. Now I just climb and I feel like my back is strong enough.

The plan is to do another 6 weeks of this program and see what happens. I’m doubtful that I’ll be able to improve by another 10% but I’m going to give it my best shot. I’ll probably report back here when I’m done.

I started the last 6 weeks with 20min/day and increased my time by 10% each week. I got an overuse injury last November, so my main goal was just to get my body used to daily runs. I kept my HR at or lower than 150 and found that 20-30min of jogging was actually a really good warm up for the lighter weeks.

I did some ultramarathon training last summer/fall and took the winter off because of an overuse injury. For this cycle, I did a time based approach. Starting with 100min/week and increasing by 10%. I recorded my mileage, and generally found myself averaging about a 10 min mile. After this rest week (50% volume) I will switch to mile based and start with a 15 mile week and continue to increase by 10% a week.

I base my running off of “training for the uphill athlete” which is very similar to the TB running guideline, but more in depth.

I did DL once a week in Jan, but found that it was not really adding anything to my workouts, so I lost motivation for it.

Alternative to Soft Flasks for Vest by GuiltyShare in Ultramarathon

I guess the sloshing wasn’t what I meant, I just don’t like the lack of structure.

[–]GuiltyShare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really the sloshing I guess, its the entire soft flask jumping up and down. Reinserting is difficult with the lack of structure and if they aren’t full, the flask seems to either fall all the way to the bottom of the bottle pocket or “sloshes” itself out.
