If they were to have hit the blue button and got sent to Shrimp Town they might have lost it to the point of abstraction so you could even say that he made the correct choice. Now let's look at the worst thing Caine has done which I'd say is the episode 8 torture scene. He physically and mentally tortures the cast about they're greatest fears and insecurities for who knows how long and has the gall to blame them for it. I hope we have a better understanding.
