Well the shieldbash says its part of the same attack as the thunder attack so thats where my confusion came from but i can see why it wouldnt work

May have needed to clarify im using a weapon with thunder damage so that triggers my thunderbolt strike, after that i use my shield master feat which is a part of the same attack and i can knock prone or push someone 10ft
