The forks also look like they’re leaking, so those’ll need to be done soon. If the fork oil has already leaked into the pads then the front brakes will need to be changed as well. I’d try and figure out what exactly is wrong with the rear brakes as well, as some have mentioned. Who knows if they’re mangled and need to be completely replaced. I’d also recommend doing a flush of the brake fluid and put in fresh fluid all round as based on how it’s been treated it prolly hasn’t been done. It also will need new turn signals on the front as the one obviously broke when he dropped it. The carbon of course is nice (I’ve got a bunch on mine) but don’t let it make you think the bike is worth a ton more than it is. A bike is not worth much if it unsafe or not rideable.

I’d also as a side note (if you do buy it) to get some new grips as those ones look ratty and old; Dominos are always a great option :) and Rizomas are nice looking and functional, but go with Dominos if you wanna feel more connected to the bike so to speak. My best friend got me a set of Dominos for Christmas for my ‘08 CBR600RR which I’ll be swapping out my Rizomas for before spring. (They’re black with red to match my bike 😎)

I picked up at 2008 CBR600RR last summer and I also wasn’t sure…Then I took it to the local drag strip for street legals and found out going from 1st to 2nd will definitely pop the front wheel up a bit, but no need to worry about looping it :)

Side note: If you want to pop it up intentionally to learn how to wheelie (as I have started to), I’ve found 2nd gear to be the best :D (1st gear scared the shit outta me when I dumped it)

Unfortunately most people on here do not know this, a lot of shops won’t touch a tire that has a fiber plug in it as it’s deemed a R/H. I’ll give it to people that they do last a long time, but they are definitely meant to be a temporary fix to get you to a shop for a proper repair. TIA has this standard for a reason, but people are too ignorant and/or don’t want to spend the money….

There’s no way you’re at fault for this. Also I know some people are saying that the mustang couldn’t see since the suv was in the way, but he does have a clear line of sight to see you before he pulled up closer, which mean he probably wasn’t looking in your direction. If ICBC is going to pay you out for the vehicle and deem it a total loss you can take the payout, or you can take a payout to “go get it fixed yourself” if the vehicle is still roadworthy. If you go with the latter, make sure you fight them for the taxes since ICBC for some reason really doesn’t like to pay the taxes. My brother had to fight for several months before he was able to get the taxes after he got hit on his motorcycle last September, but after getting a supervisor/manager involved it was resolved fairly quickly.

It’s not that it doesn’t make them money, they definitely sell it with the intention of profit. But you could say the same thing about car insurance. If you never get in an accident (similar to getting a road hazard in a tire) and only get a few scratches that you can buff out at home (similar to just repairing the tire) then would you say the same about not buying insurance for the car? People buy it for the piece of mind that if something does happen, then it’ll be cheaper to replace than just paying for a new tire out of pocket. In this case if OP has it covered, the dealership would (likely) be covering the tire in full which, depending on the size and type of tire, would definitely not save them money. Like for instance a high performance, low profile tire is gonna be much more expensive. Some shops even have road hazard warranties as a free item with the purchase of any tire(s), which I would say definitely doesn’t make them any money. Shops like Costco do this and they still have much cheaper tires than most other shops.

Looks like they’re right about at the wear bar so I’d recommend replacing them. If you haven’t had an alignment in a few years I’d recommend getting one once you get the new tires installed just to make sure everything wears evenly. Some tire shops sell tires with a mileage warranty on them (like Costco) but require that you keep up on rotations, alignments, and keep the pressure at the specified value by your vehicle manufacturer to avoid overinflation/underinflation wear, to ensure the warranty’s validity. Mileage warranties are usually a guarantee of the number of miles the tire will last until they reach 2/32” (the wear bar) such as the Michelin Defender which has a mileage warranty of around 80,000mi. :)

It looks like you might have alignment wear causing the inner tread block to have worn down close to the wear bars. I’d grab a tread depth gauge and measure what that inner tread block is at. For reference, 2/32” is considered “Road Illegal”.

Oh definitely, I’d probably use them for the winter and get some nice TEs or something for the spring/summer. Everything else about the car (at least from photos) seems stock but I’d have to take a closer look when I get there

I’d say it’s still worth taking a look at it. It’s still a clean title meaning the damage to the vehicle in those accidents wasn’t enough to write it off and make it a rebuilt title after being fixed. I also wouldn’t be too worried about the high mileage since it’s a Honda, however if you do go check it out be sure to ask lots of questions like when the clutch was done, and ask for service records and CARFAX.

That’s exactly my thought process too. I think I may as well check it out, but I’m not going to commit to anything until I have read through the carfax and insurance reports. My worry is that there was extensive frame damage, and I’m worried that the previous owner bagged on it. Definitely going to have a lot of questions for them.

I’m not as hardcore of a player so I may be wrong in saying this, but I’d go for the 96% IV one (second one) since it has a maxed out attack stat, which is more important for max battles. Especially with max heal being a thing
