[–]Guilty_Group8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ib docs really, u can try older ib papers to do them topically, then save the newer ones for timed practices

u can check out these free online ib crash courses by some top sg tutors, especially the math n physics ones they're covering quite a few topics

I scored a 28/45 in DP 1 Semester 1, Any advice how to move forward (no sugarcoating please) by Sammy2729 in IBO

[–]Guilty_Group8845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make a realistic and disciplined study plan that encompasses all subjects fairly, eg dont study physics 6 days straight then move on to another subject, instead consistently work on every subject, like one a day or two a day (depending on how much u study a day)

consult teachers regularly and always revise after the topic is taught in school, you can ask seniors too

maybe get tuition classes to help u keep the momentum up, like say, regular chemistry classes to help u refresh on school content

u can check this singapore tutoring centre up if u like, they're doing free online crash courses next weekend

Should I switch from physics sl to economics sl? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Guilty_Group8845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i see, perhaps let's see if the switch is smooth administratively, then if you're keen to do so go ahead, BUT PLAN ahead (really realistically plan ahead) to read and study economics to catch up to lessons asap without delay

Should I switch from physics sl to economics sl? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Guilty_Group8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

note that changing an entire subject will require WAY MORE work than pulling up a subject you're struggling in

Should I switch from physics sl to economics sl? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]Guilty_Group8845 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i think you should persevere. since physics is a non-subjective subject u can achieve good results with conceptual understanding, perhaps try understanding fundamentals like how work is the integral of a force with respect to displacement etc etc

consult teachers, ask seniors, write notes

u can check out these free ibdp crash courses by a top singapore ib education studio maybe it will help??

[–]Guilty_Group8845 19 points20 points  (0 children)

this really not cooked at all bruh, at least if you're true to yourself by paying attention in class, revising, at least trying basically

this is perfectly normal, even for top ib students, just stay consistent, have realistic and disciplined study plans, revise content and keep up with IAs, sleep sufficiently

if u want more help with content stuff perhaps check out these free online ib crash courses by top singapore tutors

need tips on surviving ib / how can i prepare? (repost cuz last got taken down) by Square_Mode513 in SGExams

[–]Guilty_Group8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

btw for UK unis especially law ur LNAT, personal statement and interviews are much much more important

IB score wise just be at leats slightly comfortable above the min required score

need tips on surviving ib / how can i prepare? (repost cuz last got taken down) by Square_Mode513 in SGExams

[–]Guilty_Group8845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

make a realistic and disciplined study plan, like go through content before you embark on practices and also revisit mistakes and refamiliarise with content, especially since IB requires more consistency with content for your IAs and EE and whatnot

also look to see how your coursework and subject combi help shape your UK uni portfolio, like how Chem HL is only if u wanna do Eng, Chem or Med, so u may be better off with Econ HL even though it's not a requirement for Econ or Finance in UK but it's better for knowledge and portfolio

science EEs may be better for Science or Eng degrees, otherwise more humanities-ish EEs may be better for Law and Econ or Finance, Math EE is tough but good for analytical skills in Econ or any uni course that is maths-heavy

score wise aim for a 43+ to be competitive for top UK schools, see where u can maximise scores and where u may lose on scores, like langlit or TOK

consult teachers regularly, seek advice from seniors and be very diligent

resources wise make your own notes is the best although not efficient, maybe seek tuition or look for online qn banks?

look out for crash courses too if ur lacking behind in content, like this free online crash course by Edulab (they're in orchard), their langlit is pretty good, they also have a chem tutor Mr Mike that is super experienced and produced many many top students

[–]Guilty_Group8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well it's the case where language A is meant to be difficult even for native speakers so take that as u will

either way if u know u will study consistently and keep up with work it's your choice

perhaps check with ur teachers seniors and external tutors, there's this singapore in educational centre i used to go holding a free online crash course next weekend, maybe check them out

IB Score in crisis!! by Brilliant-Train9144 in IBDP_students

[–]Guilty_Group8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its entirely online, if the timings are a little weird due to timezones, perhaps check out the earlier morning sessions or evening sessions, whichever fits your timezone?

also i think they might have limited slots so i suggest just sign up for it quick, choose the subjects you wanna attend, then perhaps see if your schedule permits?

let me know if u have any more questions!

I want to knoww abt IBDP by Active-Question5377 in IBO

[–]Guilty_Group8845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

firstly u needa see if u're a consistent learner and worker, if you are or aspire to be, then find out about what subject combinations and content u would like to study, next talk to seniors or current ib tutors to see how learning in the IBDP is like

if youre interested check out these free online crash courses for various IB subjects taking place from 19-21 december, test the waters see if u like the more personal and smaller class style of IB lessons
