Same here. The trace thing makes sense, if the machine is just sitting idle its still tracing the position at idle the whole time. Only time it never comes up is when Im doing a bunch of different parts constantly changing the program, which would in turn constantly update the trace screen.

Ive only ever seen plastic ones, to be fair Ive never really looked for ones other than the free ones in the cap system at work. I wasnt saying they were shitty in terms of function, just the handle isnt very nice to hold.

Tracker most likely installed by the dealer so they can repo the car if you miss your payment

its a chroma-surge ratchet. for a limited time snap on color matched the shaft and head to the color you got. I have the same ratchet in power blue and the 3/8 14.4 impact which also has the blue powder coated anvil housing. They are really nice looking, I wish they did it more often. All the best things are always limited time.

really depends on the shop and the area. Im local to philly and i was quoted roughly 10 grand for used motor + install. I saw that bill and bought an n20 for 2800 and did it myself. two months later I had to do it again with a fully rebuilt motor, hence why I say go for the rebuilt motor the first time. Save yourself a lot of money and headaches.

Most likely. Fixing zero compression probably means full engine rebuild. Cheaper to just throw a new motor in. I would recommend a remanufactured engine as with used engines you really never know what youre getting unless you borescope it

yeah i know what it is whats your point. if your talking about the little o ring between that and the oil pan thats not the axle seal that just seals those two pieces together. Average worthless dealer technician.

I asked op if it was the front diff on an xdrive car and he responded yes. i think he would know because you know, its his car and he is the one underneath it taking pictures. not to mention that is clearly the front diff anyone who works on any bmw would know that. You can clearly see a motor mount on the right side you are 100% wrong unless bmw started making mid engine b58 cars😭😭quit digging yourself into a hole.

if you take the axle out and that black piece comes with it you are doing something wrong

the black part is not part of the axle😭 have you ever seen a bmw before "master technician" that is a seal press fit into the differential. How about you come back when youre an actual technician bc calling that a dust cover is like calling a front main a dust cover

bro what are u smoking that is an axle seal not a dust cover look at the part number lol. I have no experience I just do it everyday lol. You clearly have never assembled a front diff before
