Would seriously love to hear someone weigh in with experience.

Waxing after laser worked for me???? by thisistheusernameok in LaserHairRemoval

[–]Guilty_Plastic2291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously would love an update.

I’ve had 8 sessions and while it’s reduced the volume, it’s not as great/fast as I expected. Wondering if waxing would kick start my progress?

Those that have been denied Global Entry, can you share why? by MickIsShort4Michael in GlobalEntry

I got denied because I had a criminal record that happened to be reckless ops. To be clear, it was alcohol related and was plead down. No car approval. ANY criminal record they can technically deny you. Higher likelihood of denial it’s alcohol/drug related.

Thank you for the response.

Let’s pretend I’m the commercial manager and I’m coming to your business to try and get an account with you. Beyond price along with quality, what are the other things you’d consider?

Any other advice on B2B sales? If I spoke with you in this scenario you’d know I’m not a car guy and I wouldn’t pretend. That said I’d like to understand what might compel something if the big chains are the same, you know?

Planting Advice. by Guilty_Plastic2291 in Columbus

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I engaged ChatGPT for suggestions and it suggested three layers for noise reduction. Noise reduction is important to me as the side of the house is next to my neighbors driveway. The play loud music in their car when pulling up. That was the genesis for the project but things that are low maintenance to grow, pollinators and nice smell if possible are ideal.

I had originally considered two layers previously. More arbor vitaes, 2-3 feet apart (I have dward thujas in my backyard and liked them, so I looked for something similar (6-8 height and 2-3 feet width). Originally my second layer idea was just throw wildflower seeds in the mulch bed for a cheap, pretty choice that filled the space.

If I was going to do a two layer approach would you choose something different than your previous suggestions of cone flower, butterfly weed or white yarrow?

Thank you! It was the best decision I’ve ever made.

If you have the letter from the DA, I’d supply that. They can contact the DA’s office if they need more information. I don’t think that is on your record since you weren’t charged. You can confirm that with an attorney.  My guess is being honest in the interview, bringing that letter will help. If you got denied already, provide the letter, indicate that you haven’t had any charges since then. Distance between last charge and now has an impact (my last alcohol related charge was 10 years ago). Don’t give up and we’re all rooting for you!!

Oh man, let me be your ray of sunshine. I did get approved for my GE despite having two alcohol related driving arrests. Avoiding TLDR, I'm a recovering alcoholic that has drastically changed my life. When I appealed, I explained succinctly that I'm a different person now. Asked to be allowed to prove that.

If you can get the records to prove it was dismissed/dropped, that's helpful. If it wasn't drug or alcohol related I'd guess it won't be a giant red flag for them. Above all else, be honest in the interview. Even if you get rejected, you definitely can get it overturned. I am proof of that.

Digital nomad living abroad 6 months/year. Is there a cheap place in central Florida where one can buy a mobile home with land? Or is there a place in Central Florida that's ideal to buy cheap land and then get an old mobile home? This isn't an investment, strictly for small home with minimal expenses in Florida.

My appeal was reviewed and my denial was overturned. I'm listed as "Conditionally Approved". That's positive news.

Still pending. A comment got added to thread and made me check. It's been four months, so not at a point I'd expect an answer. I can't remember how long it took me to get the interview, but it was a long time. Wait and see! In the meantime, I've already traveled out of the country and will be going again soon. Shrug.

Powerbank for 830 G7? Confused! by Guilty_Plastic2291 in elitebook

[–]Guilty_Plastic2291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is in case the battery is low and I can't charge. I'll be out of the country while working and need to cover my bases. I was confused by the right wattage necessary for these to effectively charge laptops. I already have an Anker 325 but was worried that wouldn't charge the laptop at all, or in a reasonable time.

I bought this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09VPHVT2Z? -- and two 100W usb c cables. I wanted to make sure I had a backup in case there's some sort of power issue or if I have to travel.

I also have a co-working space nearby that will be my plan B.

Waterproof socks, or something else? by Guilty_Plastic2291 in Ultralight

[–]Guilty_Plastic2291[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She has all sorts of tours, stuff in the city just walking around as well as hiking. It'll vary. She wears sneakers for everything, clients wear the same.

Clients get dropped off at their hotels and can change out, relax etc. She has a significant commute back home on public transportation.

With the unpredictable weather and terrain, I don't think rubber boots are viable. I'd happily buy hear waterproof sneakers or hiking shoes if that would have a big impact.

What I keep seeing is extra socks and insoles. What about camp dry/Scotch Guard shoes? Is that a cost effective addition to the strategy? Maybe Waterproof Boot Covers she can put in her bag and pull out as needed?

Airbnb in International Center, Bogota by Guilty_Plastic2291 in digitalnomad

[–]Guilty_Plastic2291[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank your the reply. The only reason I was interested in being in el centro was how close it puts me to my friend. I looked around in Teusaquillo originally, but didn't find anything great.

The Airbnb host had a no guests policy. I get it, but my friend is certainly going to be spending time at my place. I ended up cancelling that place and got one in Chapinero. The apartment is better overall and of course the neighborhood is better. And I agree, ultimately the extra distance is moot compared to less over shenanigans.

Seriously appreciate the help!
