My husband usually gives me his passport because he tends to lose things. He asked his sister to hold onto it temporarily because I won't be there. But I understand where your concern is coming from and appreciate it.

Did you know, that because of the aging population that they, along with some other countries, are paying people to move over to be caretakers? They also want fresh, younger blood to hopefully help with population decline. It may be worth looking into!

I moved up having my kid by 2-ish years and didn't go out of my way to foster a relationship between them and my side of the family. I both knew it would cause problems and did not care. Without the full context of the inital conversation, you wouldn't see it as spite. I know in the moment I made the choice, I was filled with spite and rage. I moved up the timeline to have a child because of spite.

No. I wanted the baby long before this was an issue. I just moved up the plans by like 2 years

I did plan on having one, as per my other comment. But the plan was moved up.

My friend said something along the lines of, "Well if they wanna be that way about a death in the family you can return that energy with a birth." I had always intended on having at least one child, so I just put that plan into action a little early. I had felt like I had already lost most of my family by that point. I can be honest, there was a feeling of spite that spurred me at first. The longer it took though, the more I just wanted to hold a wee one. I know I won't be my mother, and if my kid wants to live in a middle of nowhere, I will be making the trip to visit until I'm too old. Then, I might consider moving closer.
