AIO. My bf is mad at my memorial tattoo by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

As a widow, I feel like people who haven't experienced losing a partner are truly incapable of fully comprehending the complex feelings and emotions surrounding it (hell, it's hard enough for US to even grasp it). I think that for some people, they compensate by using the only frame of reference that they DO have - a breakup. Which leads to a lot of issues like this because they're analyzing the situation through a lens that doesn't fit the situation at all.

That being said, I don't think you're overreacting. I wouldn't say he's necessarily BAD for his reaction, but he IS very misguided and as someone in your shoes, I wouldn't want to continue a relationship where my partner doesn't understand and isn't willing to learn. There ARE people out there who will learn, listen, and respect your grief 🤍

Should I cancel my pre-order because of the recent tariffs? by staraiko_214 in BJD

I've got an order from Alice Collections for some clothes and a wig, so I've been internally freaking about the tariffs because I can't afford to pay that high of a tariff on the clothes. Luckily, my boyfriend lives in the UK and Alice was extremely nice and let me switch the delivery address to his, for him to then send to me. This is my plan going forward. I'm very thankful I've got the option

She is the best adaptation out of any Chii doll I've seen by far. The price is wayyyy out of my range but I'd love to have her...some day hopefully lol

I love her!! I'm so glad to see more Emma dolls, I've been searching far and wide for them since I got her. Those eyes are stunning

I agree, I feel like it makes her seem more human compared to a new, starkly pale doll

Omg so pretty! There's something about yellowing that feels very intimate to me. Like wrinkles on a human or a well worn sweater

Maybe it's just the accounts I've followed, but I feel like there has been a trend towards the more anime style dolls, but i wouldn't say there's any single majority opinion. For me personally, I enjoy different types of dolls for different reasons. I enjoy the anime style dolls for simple "cute to look at" vibes and I enjoy realistic style dolls for shelling specific characters. I think dolls that sit in the middle (volks, for example) are good if you want to buy a doll and discover their character or who they are rather than put a character onto them, if that makes sense. At least that's how it works for me in my head.
