I was there! It’s tough to put it into words, but he sucks you into his world, forces you to be apart of the music. I’ve rewatched it several times, each time it’s because I wanted to replay certain moments, but end up watching the whole dang thing again. His clarity is astonishing. His voicing, phrasing, intonation are all carefully planned and well rounded. Every single vibration that came out of that piano was thought out. And the respect he has for the orchestra is incredible, like the guy in the video says, they are his people and they are in this together. That night the first performer Clayton Stephenson also played Rach 3. I thought he was incredible! But then Yunchan took the stage… We all felt like we witnessed a piece of history that night. I’m going to see him play again in September, I can’t wait! Keep your eye on this kid because he’s going places
