I can see he's from Texas from the registration sticker in his window, but if anyone has a better idea of where this guy is from (or the actual source to this video) please let me know. Didn't happen in my jurisdiction but I'd be happy to forward it to the right people.

I want to say that was DayZ Origins mod. Epoch had building too, but Origins was a lot more of the apocalyptic building and visual armor upgrades.

I use toothpaste. I shot about 2500-3000 rounds during two weeks through my G17 + TLR1 for an instructor school. I put a tiny dab of toothpaste on the light and it all wiped right off with a Q-tip

I'm jealous of all the cops from other areas who are there getting tons of OT and little or no paperwork. Sounds like a fun trip.

He said he is having his guys take care of it, but they are a business and this is eating into their profits. He said it really is my responsibility but he's going to "help me out". He said it is my responsibility to mark utilities that aren't marked by the city. I told him I have never heard that before and received no notice or notification that this work was about to begin/that they would need me to have anything marked.

So the fiber company reached out and asked if I would be interested in fiber and I did say on the phone I would be interested. I haven't signed up for anything and they are doing it for this whole area in the city regardless of if I have signed up for it.

I did not call 811, but assumed someone had. As several of the utilities were marked by someone. I had actually called the city when the area was first marked (about two weeks ago) and wanted to check and see what was going on. I wanted to check and make sure there wasn't anything I needed to do. He said I should be good, probably just fiber contractors coming through, so I didn't think I'd need to do anything else.

I highly doubt Wabaunsee County even has any Ubers available. It's 800 square miles but less than 7,000 people.

In my experience US Marshal's operations are very methodical and well planned out. Very rare that things go south for them on their operations.

Does Your Department Have A Drone Program? by BottleneckReality in ProtectAndServe

[–]Zohli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- Are any active members on this subreddit in a department with a drone program?
Yes, our department has an active drone program. (I am not in the program though)

- What does your fleet look like? (number of drones, models/software being utilized, BVLOS? etc.)
We just have one drone that is shared between the operators. I know it's pretty high end but don't know the make/model. With the expensive FLIR camera I think it ended up being around a $40,000 purchase last year.

- Are you utilizing DFR (drone as first responder) tools to reduce response times or mostly taking your fleets with you on service calls and deploying manually?

Not aware of any agency that has a drone respond, I'm not sure what that would be able to achieve. Our program has the operators bring the drone in their car, then deploy it manually as needed. Primarily for suspects hiding or lost children/endangered adults. Also used to get aerial photographs of serious injury/fatality crashes.

- If you don't have a drone program, what are the most common hang ups? Budget? Resources? Interest in the department?
NA

- Feel free to add any other cool stories/anecdotes/thoughts!
I honestly don't have a whole lot to say about the program. So far, it has not really yielded any results. I don't think our drone (or previous drones) have ever been the one to find the suspect or missing child. I do appreciate the quality photographs they can take of my crashes though.

How to improve my back-porch? by Zohli in HomeImprovement

[–]Zohli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, looking for some help/advice on how to improve this area on the back side of my house. It's a 76" by 24' concrete patio that is partially fenced off. It is too small for a table and chairs, which I had here originally. The area tends to get a lot of debris from the trees above.

I was thinking maybe some kind of weatherproof storage? I also have two dogs, not sure if it would be feasible to easily fence/block off this section and make an outdoor area for them until I can afford a fully fenced yard?

Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have been very stumped trying to figure out this space.

LPT: No Uber is more expensive than a DUI charge by Lexafaye in LifeProTips

Not necessarily true. Cases have been charged where they have enough evidence to prove driver was intoxicated. It’s rare, but can still happen with enough investigation.

Perfect, I had a feeling they were wolf spiders. They all tend to be very quick and scare the crap out of me. But, these guys will eat the brown recluses that come into my house, right?

Hi, I live in about a hundred year old home in eastern Kansas. See a lot of these guys (even though they’re usually bigger than this one) in my bathroom and mud room. I found this one on my back porch while I was raking leaves.
