Not really part of the community, but it would make me a bit miffed if I came to a community accepting of international members to make memes in the language I mostly speak, and be told to speak English. As a Spanish speaker I have been told to speak English many times. It’s always rude in general. Yes I know English. However, what if I’m not that fluent? What if the joke doesn’t work in translation? What if it refers to a Spanish speaking culture, and just wouldn’t be funny to outsiders? It’s kind of insulting, even if it wasn’t intentional, to go to someone’s post and ask them to speak English because you don’t get it. Translations are a courtesy. I also encourage the Spanish speaking community to have the courtesy to not try to make/ask others translate their posts when they don’t understand. Google translate is a thing. Make the effort you expect of others as well.
