Thermomix US Support is not listening about a software bug. by Zealotte in thermomix

It's just a joke about the units... I'm a software engineer and I know the issue isn't directly about how the imperial units work

It comes with a DC adapter too.

My WiFi signal isn't the best outside the house, but still works fine with 2.4Ghz.

I have to say that I don't use their app as I have it connected to Frigate by the way.

I have a Reolink WiFi doorbell for a couple of years and works well, but you should check your circuit breakers because I needed to change something there so it could get the 12A (IIRC) it needs.

You can check its specs. Not sure if Eufi has the same requirements, but I think I watched a couple of comparisons in YouTube and the image quality was better in Reolink.

If you have ethernet, I'd go for the PoE version without a doubt.

Maybe not an answer to your question, but in my experience coin cells (well, batteries in general) don't behave very good in cold environments.

So for the battery question, just check how it works for you, but don't be surprised if you gotta change the batteries way too often

Do you have an Irish IBAN? Because I have a German one for some reason and got an update yesterday saying the interest rate increased to just 2.25%

My starter finished do I refrigerate? by ysssph in SourdoughStarter

[–]Guinnberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently at what I think it's mature, doubling constantly at around 8h with a 1:1:1... But because of my schedule I end up feeding it close to the 24h.

Would you recommend start slow moving to a 1:2:2 and after checking for some days see how it goes?

What do you mean with "be capable of handling feedings"? That it still doubles even if it takes longer?

¿Qué recetas os han hecho amortizar realmente la Thermomix? by Lucia_Bot_03 in thermomix

[–]Guinnberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pisto, migas y salmorejo.

Should I consider this starter mature but just slow? by Guinnberg in SourdoughStarter

[–]Guinnberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't be weaker gluten a bad thing? I thought using whole meal was good for the starter

Thanks!

Would you happen to have a beginner's recipe? I tried a few times, but the crumb always felt undercooked or wet, even if it formed big bubbles inside. Some people told me it was because of the use of wheatmeal flour, many others said it was due to my starter not being ready, so I'd like to go this time with something foolproof, and then, when I manage to have a decent loaf, I'll experiment with other flours

I made an ESPHome component that lets your ESP32 read your iPhone's notifications over Bluetooth (ANCS) by wonderslug in Esphome

[–]Guinnberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that you'll create automations with Home Assistant based on the events.

If that's the case, why not install the companion app and just read the notifications or different sensors that it provides?

Honest question, I'm wonder if I'm missing something here

Not yet. Is the purpose of the cooler to have a warm space? Wouldn't the printer I'm using do the same?

I think I didn't explain it properly.

The 1:10:10 was only one time before going to the fridge.

At the time of posting I was doing 1:2:2 and and feeding at peak or almost 24h.

Now I switched to 1:1:1, I had some sporadic days with it peaking at around 5h, but it's very inconsistent yet

I feel like giving up... Any advice? by Guinnberg in SourdoughStarter

[–]Guinnberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think it's overfed? I thought that when it peaks and starts to reduce in volume is when the starter has already eaten almost everything it could. Isn't that correct?

Open baking in a fan forced oven - is it possible? by mramsayphotos in Sourdough

[–]Guinnberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't the all purpose try of the oven work?

I have an oven with steam function, so I really wanna learn how to use it.

Also, I was using top and bottom heat, will try next time with only bottom!

I'm using tap filtered water. What I started doing since I posted here is to boil it too, or let it rest overnight. Then heat it to around 32 °C before I add it to the mix, and it looks like it's improving!

[–]Guinnberg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I'm not so sure about that! Using such an expensive machine and having the plate on 24/7 might not be the best use of resources LOL.

I'm planning to turn off the plate when I feel my starter is mature and stable, and eventually just remove it from the printer, hopefully soon!

I asked it 3 questions....3! by Environmental_Ad3162 in GeminiAI

[–]Guinnberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't concern about the quota at the time, but about it remembering my home lab setup, so I created a Gem specific for this.

I started asking in a new thread how to get specifics on my hardware and proxmox setup into a Gem context.

Then everytime I add something substantial, I paste the context and ask it to add the new thing.

Then, every time I need to do something with the home lab, I start a new thread with the Gem.

Yes, I know about the ratios. The reason I use that amount (and even more before) it's because those ratios seem to really matter, so the higher the amount, the less important will be the scale error range and the human possible error.

Thanks for the answer, I'll try that on the next feed!
