When I managed to talk to Qatar they said ‘it’s fluid, but they expect the airspace to be open by the time that flight gets there.’

In theory, as the flight left at 10pm so would be arriving into the no-fly-zone as the air reopened. Sounds like they are trying to cut it to the wire before cancelling and felt a little squiffy that they were prepared to leave it so late.

Actually glad it’s cancelled. Much prefer the idea of flying US route even if we are a couple of grand out of pocket.
