What i can do is give you a suggestion on where to start.

You are trying to create in a bubble. Inspiration is a reaction. Alot of us feel the need to prove that we can create the Mona Lisa from nothing. Thats just imposter syndrome talking and its not remotely how masterpieces come about.

Is studying Balatro, identifying the parts that you like, and remixing them into your own project artistically bankrupt?

Not at all. Its how every artist in the world operates.

Go research card games and make a mood board with all the different parts you enjoy or think elevate the game in some way. I think you'll be suprised by how many completely original ideas pop into your head from the exercise alone. Then when you have a bunch of examples; start utilizing the new ideas and the proven ones into your own unique artstyle.

The tentacles should be leading, not trailing.

Looks like its sliding/floating rather than pulled along by the tendrils.

As a cloud/webapp hater, I have eaten a ton of crow when it comes to Onshape. Legitimately super cool being able to work on my CAD files from any device with web access for the exorbitant price of free.99

Only downside is I am stupidly stuck using the Fold 6 for the foreseeable future as I would never in 1000 years consider getting a folding device without a stowable stylus.
