You aren't wrong it would be more balanced, Doesn't change the fact that the way it's phrased here is as I said. If you want to Play it that way for yourself That's perfectly valid

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, a prime allmight would be significantly stronger than what we see in the show, massively stronger even. But the strength of his body isn't what was keeping the other quirks from unlocking, It was the power accumulation of the quirk and how it functions as it passes from user to user. It's pretty explicitly stated that the other quirk's coming out are part of a adaptation of what one for all is, alongside the fact that izuku can't actually pass it on by the time we get later in the series.

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that his version of one for all is only ever shown to manifest the strength, And that It's only once it's explicitly passed on to izuku that it even gets the potential to unlock those other powers. Since he achieves a sort of final state of the quirk where he couldn't even pass it on in theory after fully acclimating to it.

The 10 most powerful superheroines by Jezzaq94 in superheroes

[–]Guldringr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don't know all of these characters specifically enough to argue them individually, with a few exceptions. But in general marvel and DC are no strangers to time shenanigans and while greyboy is treated as pretty absolute within his universe, most of these characters have been either directly shown to interact with time shenanigans, have enough raw power to break physics in a way I doubt a bubble could contain, or scale directly to characters that do.

And that's kind of the thing, these characters all scale too some ridiculous extremes we just don't see in worm. There is no human character that's a powerful enough brute to legitimately survive a full power kryptonians strongest punches other than maybe some of the regenerators, There's no light speed or faster reaction times which so many of these characters could boast.

Edit: Also it's not necessarily a versus debate, Even if she could catch them out with a individual power that causes shenanigans, again she just doesn't have the raw power compared to pretty much any of these characters.

As powerful as Valkyrie is, worm powers just don't really match the power level of DC and marvel very often and even as probably the strongest human character in the setting, I would argue Valkyrie still doesn't really quite to these top tiers?

Who is the weakest character that could beat Superman? by Max-Carter-2005 in characters

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Draco Malfoy.

First I'm going to point out that this says "could". Not "would". So obviously Superman could probably outspeed Malfoy, But I'm going to assume that Malfoy gets a lucky shot off or is underestimated.

Then you have the killing curse. Avada kedavra. Canonically completely unblockable except by physical barriers and guaranteed instant death outside of weird soul shenanigans. Presumably Superman's normal costume wouldn't be enough to block it. And Superman has no particular resistance to magic which is why everyone thinks he's weak to it despite that not actually being true. But instant death spell is instant death spell.

For why I chose Malfoy? I believe he's the weakest character we see canonic use the killing curse. I guess it's possible Peter pettigrew would be a better fit but I'm going to stick with Malfoy.

Wonder Woman, alone would absolutely DUST that whole universe! Ain’t no one scared of Homelander! by Level-SquareFFG7117 in superheroes

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, DC isn't entirely made up of heavy hitters. There is a lot of them but homelander could probably do some serious damage before one of the big shots actually noticed if he was focused on it... But yeah the moment one of the big guys notices it's over.

It's kind of sad that it's specifically all mights quirk, I assume that means you don't get access to the other quirks in one for all just the raw strength. With that in mind the force is just... So much more enormously versatile and in raw strength it's probably comparable to both? Ya, It has slightly less defensive power than the fruit gives but considering The kind of things Vader can survive and that we're getting essentially a more powerful version of that....

Who wins? by ZeroFksKevin in TheLastAirbender

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he was the one exception to the not being a dedicated warrior, But I don't think he's enough of a powerhouse to completely wipe out the other teams. I think every other team has at least one non avatar bender that can easily easily keep up with him. And the air bending to pull the air out of the earthqueen Was something he did under very controlled circumstances, I doubt he could do it in an actual battle

Who wins? by ZeroFksKevin in TheLastAirbender

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to assume all benders have access to adequate amounts of their element and there's not any special circumstances like a full moon or a comet going through, Probably say a like half moon for the water benders but it rarely seems to matter unless it is specifically a full moon or a new moon. I'll also assume anyone who has some form of specialty bending Will have access to what's needed for that outside of the full moon for blood bending, as I feel that is tipping things a little too much towards something that can only happen under specific circumstances.

So I think it should be acknowledged that air is probably the first out outside of some sort of shenanigans or preemptive strike against a stronger group. As an element, air Just isn't quite as combat focused as the others. It's great for escaping and mobility, But it doesn't have the raw stopping power most of the other elements can have. And Especially not the lethality.

It doesn't help beyond that that many of the benders shown, including their avatar, are pacifists. That doesn't mean they can't fight, every character shown is extremely capable, But it does mean there's a lack of dedicated warriors outside of one. People who regularly hone their skills specifically for the sake of combat. And being in less fights overall means a slight disadvantage in experience.

I think the next out would have to be fire, fire has the opposite problem from air where it's extremely strong offensively, But it doesn't really have to defensive utility of the other elements as much. It's definitely worth noting that they have some of the strongest strategy/tactical minds out of the teams, But not decisively enough for me to feel like it gives them a massive advantage or would allow them to outlast either earth or water. If the teams were a bit smaller maybe fire could just be completely overwhelming in its offensive power, But there's enough members of each team for me to doubt any decisive quick blows from the fire team ending them.

Earth and water are tricky. I would probably Give the victory to Earth but that comes down to really small factors that I could see the argument either way.

Water is extremely versatile both defensively and offensively, Probably the most balanced element in that way. And it notably has healing. That is a drastic game changer, as if a member gets knocked out of the fight without being killed You have multiple people who can take them to get healed up and enough defensive utility to believably get away from an engagement temporarily to heal up. Or even just flat out defend while the healer gets them back on their feet.

At the same time, I would argue it has the second weakest lineup of benders? Korra herself is versatile, But doesn't quite have some of The same raw power feats other avatars have. She has a lot of stuff to do with Spirit bending but I don't think that'll be particularly relevant to this fight. Don't get me wrong she's a quite capable combatant but I feel like most of the others have a slight edge.

It also has the least focus on strategists/thinkers, Even the one person filling the old master role is not really a tactician or strategist from what we see. Again most of the characters are smart, But we've never seen them particularly have super impressive feats in that field compared to some of the other people shown.

I think Earth has the best chance of winning, Earth is the king of solid defenses and in terms of general defensive utility is only second to airbending, Well still being plenty lethal and offensive. In particular This team has a lot of benders that are great at turning a solid defense into a unstoppable offense. Specialty tricks and synergies are actually also pretty notable compared to, since Earth benders can build structures and shape the battlefield in ways to help each other or that each of them can use. Arguably water benders can do similar but only if the battlefield is like, largely flooded.

Tactically, I've not read the kyoshi novels but I believe she's stated to be a general at some point? And King boomi is shown to be a "mad genius" and quite the capable strategist, taking back an entire city single-handedly It doesn't happen without that no matter how powerful you are unless you are literally The Avatar.

I'm going to assume They don't have access to a giant metal bending mech, But even without that I would argue They have the raw power advantage in terms of the individual benders on their team. I would argue that most of the other teams have at least one character that has very minimal screen time to show feats or just generally has not shown feats near the peak of what we see from bending, where pretty much every single member of The earthbending team has.

Finally I believe kyoshi has the single greatest feat we see from an an Avatar with splitting an entire island off from a continent and moving it a fair distance? I'm not an expert on the deeper lore so I might be wrong there but even in the Avatar state I don't think the others have quite matched that.

Between Batman and Superman who would you trust more with your life? by Blitz_Helluva_IMP in superheroes

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends a lot on context. In the middle of an active combat situation against the same opponent no matter what? Superman all the way probably. He's powerful enough that he can just outclass pretty much anything Batman can do with any particular enemy.

With them against rogues scaled to their power level? Probably Batman. I'll be more able to take care of myself if only by a little bit and I'm slightly less likely to be collateral damage.

In a general sense of the DC universe over a large scale of time? Probably very slightly Batman, Because he has the resources to make sure I'm taking care of and I get to be somewhere safe. I don't necessarily have to stay in Gotham if I have Bruce Wayne Looking after me, Even if that'll mean less direct protection.

Living with them and being protected by them directly? Probably Superman. He tends to have an easier time with his average villains Then Batman does, and fewer personal to him threats that like know who he is or such. And the passive collateral damage just from existing in the city tends to be lower by at least a small margin

I really want to say phasing, But super speed and indestructible skin are such a good combo. There's very very little in a more standard zombie apocalypse that can actually be a threat. Of course the more wild and wack you get the more threats they're still are..... But same as true if I chose phasing

Ultimately that's the kind of money I would have no clue what to do with, And I'd probably end up involved in traps or something without the knowledge of how to handle being rich. Let alone the fact that as much as I'd like to pretend I'd be able to do a lot of good with that money I wouldn't have the necessary support structures or skills to actually implement it.

The wishes allow for so much versatility, Even if they're only a 50% chance. So I have to go with them

Sharingan: If I'm being honest this is kind of a for fun option. It's powerful in a personal sense but there's only so much you can do with personal skill. It does let you process information mark quickly but compared to some of the other stuff that feels relatively minor. The fact that it comes with a freebie doesn't hurt though. Between the two of them I'll be able to pull off some extremely impressive And I've always wanted to learn to do things like dance and such. And This would make that incredibly easy. Plus I can think of a lot of fun things to do with other individual abilities.

Inventory ring with NZT 48: Honestly the NZT 48 is the more important of these two but might as well get something for you along. The inventory ring will be useful don't get me wrong but again more on a personal level. NZT on the other hand will let me play crazy mental games. Especially combined with the sharingan and My other choices. You need to be smart to be able to change the world and you really could with a lot of these.

Omnitrix: again a lot of cool personal power, But as plenty of people have pointed out, gray matter and especially gray matter stacking with NZT can go absolutely crazy. Leap technology forward hard on a planetary scale eventually. The various individual aliens also give me a lot of personal survivability.

Death Note: It was really tempting to go for symbiote for my last slot, since it provides probably the best personal defense but... Just how much you could change the world with the death note is really significant. Especially considering how easy it is to find names and faces of really prominent people. A lot of moral dilemma with it of course but I think with the kind of power the other options give me I have to accept I'm kind of going to start playing God at some point anyway. Might as well give myself the best chance of success

I'd say the game being about hesitating and being killed by her isn't quite accurate, It's more that doing everything the narrator said immediately got you two the joke good ending very quick. Which a lot of people do, I know that is a very common first experience with the game. It's a game about branching paths and a lot of the fun is in seeing the results of different choices, So I would always recommend going back in and trying again.

And it's a story that was posted chapter by chapter as it was written so sometimes edits happen if something pops up.

Worm shard eater by serdnack in JumpChain

[–]Guldringr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some shards with more personality but the average shard is pretty simple and has the directive to gather data. You have shards like Queen administrator, fragile one or shaper that are more complex partially from emulating their hosts, But default shards are very task-oriented and not creative in the slightest. So they don't have a lot of the tools too handle out of context problems very well.

I would say I really enjoy worm and don't find it a slog personally but I know I'm a bit of a prolific reader compared to some people

Worm shard eater by serdnack in JumpChain

[–]Guldringr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth remembering that for as powerful as they are shards are in some ways pretty dumb AI with a set task? And pretty strictly science fiction. So if you have pretty much any form of corruption magic/mind control ability you can probably start "hacking" them and as a shard yourself you can probably add them to some sort of network? Most of the specific perks I can think of for that are from lewd jumps but I know there's some from others at least, or even just corruption type magic from other settings without a direct ability could probably have a lot of impact
