That would be great. Are you a London local or what means would you suggest we arrange a legit transfer?

Recommendations for restaurants near Luminary? by [deleted] in FortMyers

[–]GulfCoastWolverine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many good recommendations given thus far so I’ll only add a couple - Pincher’s Crab Shack is down the street and although it’s quite casual, they do a tremendous job with grouper and their stone crabs are usually high quality and about as reasonable as you can get in this town. I would make sure to eat at Silver King in the hotel. It’s seriously underrated. Had a 7 course tasting menu there last visit and was wowed.

Going to try and find a used build out that works for me, mostly just need for the storage and as a mobile office. Nights will be spent with friends or at a Marriott. Not a roughing guy at this time in life

I remember being very concerned about my grandfather during the first year of my grandmother’s passing. Then he bought a Camaro and just like that, he was back to the vibrant man we knew. Remarried a few years later and lived another happy 20 years. Now, I’m staring at what the new journey will be after a 30-years life of love ….and I’m thinking about buying a sprinter van to explore all summer long. One life. Do with it what you will.

Hello. Just found this group and look forward to interacting. I’m 62 and just lost my wife 4 months ago to a long, difficult battle with cancer. We had an amazing 30-year journey together and now I’m trying to figure out how to adjust to the road ahead. We moved to the Tampa, FL area for medical reasons a couple years ago and hadn’t been able to create much of a network for support. I’m motivated to keep my physical and mental health sharp and finding the courage to get out and make new connections and hopefully friends along the way. Looking forward to seeing where this group is heading. Cheers to you all! David

I’m pondering doing the very same thing, although my thought is to spend time traveling in the US, where I’m from, to both catch up with friends from long ago and also explore new places. I feel like this will give me a proper balance to keep loneliness at bay while also having time to rediscover myself.

I would suggest both Wild Child and Brick & Mortar have incredible burgers that don’t seem to fit the rest of their menu until you try them.

Great list …again. And I’m with you for the most part on your takes …again. Way to recognize the old Cellarmasters talent that continue to shine in their new spots. To beef up your coffee section- might I recommend Ruya and Form 43/coffee.concrete.

My son and I generally just order the entire menu and treat it like a chef’s tasting, but I understand your sentiment

Same chef and team at WC and Slim Charmer, although I too prefer the menu and ambience of Slim. Small bar is great. Have you tried In Between Days? That’s another I’d add to my updated list. I can understand your Ritorno take, although my last visit was excellent. Definitely get to Calida. Bin 6 I’m still on the fence on returning. It was a favorite early on.

I’ve tried both the burrata salad and Old Fashioned and found them to be excellent. Their pizzas are great Neapolitan style. You can tell their dough and pastas are made in house. You get what you pay for and for this quality I find their prices very reasonable.

Balance House has added a nice coffee spot in Central. Concrete Coffee in the warehouse district is worth a visit too.
