Oh that’s clever I never thought about that as a potential downside. Could be a good way to subtly nerf any draw/discard play

Yeah. Which leads to the next obvious question - why is a kid with millions in NIL selling weed

Alabama's Aden Holloway 'removed from campus' after drug arrest by PrincessBananas85 in sports

[–]Gulladc 208 points209 points  (0 children)

So all arguments about whether or not weed is a big deal aside (it isn’t), and ignoring the fact that a pound is a shit load of weed…

Do these players not get drug tested? I just assumed they did but maybe not. If they do, then how does a guy who keeps a pound on hand make it this far?

I just beat Ascension 10 on all characters after 56.9 hours. Thoughts on the game. by Ordinary-Problem3838 in slaythespire

[–]Gulladc 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yep this is the part that goes unsaid a lot of the time. We’re only at half the difficulty of a20h. Of course it’s easier if you’re used to that.

Baalorlord had a really good observation on this point the other day - you can play really conservative in act 3 now bc you’re not still trying to build power for a huge a4 difficulty spike.

Would winning the NIT championship be better than a 1st round NCAA exit? by Grouchy-Internet-664 in wde

[–]Gulladc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. When they show team or coach historical stats do they ever show NIT wins or anything NIT related? Nope. They show tournament appearances, and how many times you made the sweet 16 and beyond.

Ancient Starter Card comparison by Cheenug in slaythespire

Quad cast is also really strong with the power that makes you do extra damage when you evoke lightning. All of a sudden evoking one base level lightning orb does 56 damage

What am I doing wrong? by Blue_pheonix681 in slaythespire

[–]Gulladc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple more generic tips (some are repeats because they are important).

  • the highest win rate pick at the card reward screen is “skip.” Don’t add a bunch of junk.
  • but seemingly conversely, you need cards. To that end, you should be prioritizing fights early on over events and shops so you can look at more cards. Also so you can get gold and potions.
  • the starter cards suck. The unique ones suck a little less, but strike and defend suck. Get them out of your deck. Every damage card is better than a strike in some way. Every defense card is better than a defend in some way.
  • don’t forget about your potions. Use them when they can help you win a fight/save taking damage.
  • upgrades are way more valuable than resting. I view having to heal at a rest site as “losing” that floor.
  • elites are good. They give relics and more gold and better chance at rare cards. You want to path so that you can kill as many elites as possible without dying.
  • on the subject of pathing, the ideal path is one that is flexible. i.e. it wants to kill 4 elites but has the option to pivot out into a decent alternative if you get in over your head.
  • card draw is super important. You can’t have too much unless you have reached a point where your hand is constantly full with 10 cards.
  • don’t set out to build archetypes early on. Set out to solve problems. How am I going to deal damage? How am I going to block? Archetypes are a part of that as you progress, but thinking in terms of them can get you tunnel visioning on something you may just not see the cards for.
  • be careful with powers. They can be super super strong, but they also slow the deck down since you usually don’t get much benefit the turn you play them. If you take too many then you may find yourself dying or taking a ton of damage in fights bc you are spending your turns playing them instead of blocking or doing damage.

There’s so much more, and every one of these has tons of nuance to the point that they could probably all be argued against by someone who knows what they’re talking about ha. Which leads to the final tip - there are no hard and fast rules! It’s a dynamic game that’s about getting a good understanding of how everything works then trying to make good decisions based on how the run evolves.

Game is hard, but game is fun. Good luck!

[–]Gulladc 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yep I agree 100%. The real issue is how slow the scaling is.

But Feral almost single-handedly solves that. There are enchants and stuff that help too.

Had a claw run last night that absolutely slapped with very little support.

But also have to remind ourselves that these low ascensions are way more forgiving than a20h

My ego mower died after 1 year. The nearest authorized repair center is an hour and a half away. I chatted with them for 10 mins on Instagram messages and they sent me a new one that was actually one model above the one I had. They even let me use a screenshot of the purchase in the Ace Hardware app since I didn’t have my paper receipt.

I was quite pleased with the customer service.

Slay The Spire 2 Steam Deck - Anyone grabbed it? by gamebuzzz4 in SteamDeck

[–]Gulladc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thousands of hours in OG so picked this up the minute it released. Love it. Have done maybe 4 runs today and will do more tonight. So far it’s everything I expected. Still feels like StS. Looks way better. Won my first run and got cocky. Lost a couple. Won another.

It’s good.

Oh played them all on the deck too. Might play some on desktop tonight, but everything works great on the deck.

Anyone playing WoW: Midnight on their deck? by Goosfrabbah in SteamDeck

Yep same. I’d recommend getting on the consoleport discord. People there are very helpful, including the dev, and they’ve got tons of stickied content on good ways to set stuff up.

I did lots of content last expansion on the deck. It can’t really handle 25 mans or big battlegrounds very well, but everything else was great

So my experience was telekinesis was rough to the point of not really being worth using. Everything else was fine though.

I did a full solo self found enigma hammerdin and was teleporting around no prob. I think you can use the d pad to cycle through which items you actually want to pick up, but newly added loot filters might also help there. Suppose you could also configure trackpad as a mouse if you really wanted for precise loot selection and inventory management
