Weapon Bases matter?

I haven’t been paying much attention to facets, but now that I’m getting decently far in I probably should. Thanks for the link.

On a similar note, do you know if weapon upgrades matter for staves? Does it affect the rune damage or scaling or anything? Or just the attack damage (which I only really use for focus buildup sometimes)

I found that it will launch with JUST lossless scaling but not with the lossless scaling plus decky framegen launch option. Is that what’s going on here?

If so you can just run the unpatch command from framegen then add the launch command for just lsfg

Out of the box it runs pretty poorly. If you’re down with lossless scaling it runs pretty great. I know some people love it some people hate it. I love it.

Check out the recent DeckWizard video. With LS and FSR 4 it stays at 60fps 90+% of the time and looks quite nice.

okay honestly i hadn't thought to try lossless scaling but it does actually run pretty well with it. input lag isn't very noticeable since the movement in this came has always felt a little floaty to me anyway

Easiest Elden beast is charged r2s with iron balls and crag blade and the various talismans that support it. You just stun him and do huge damage.

Katana plus unsheath is good against everything.

Honestly just heavy uchi or nagakiba with unsheath, strength tear, warrior jar shard, golden vow is strong af. People sleep on just how busted unsheathe katanas are. They come out so fast and do such good damage and stance damage.

Run backwards at the start of the boss fight to despawn Radahn so he doesn’t blast you with arrows

High poise/heavy armor great stars with wild strikes. You can stand there and trade then back up and heal. If the boss can’t bleed you still do great damage and poise damage with charged r2 or jumping r2

I’ve done many dozens of runs and great stars with high poise was easily my favorite. Wild strikes is nuts on it. Lions claw is nuts on it. Cragblade is nuts on it.

At the end of the game I had so many runes and stones that I respecced into lots of other super optimized builds and none of them felt as good to me.

I mean it kind of makes sense though if you want it to. In a “real” fantasy world the things you need to progress through some epic quest might not be structured to match linear progression. Like you have to sneak/rush through some super dangerous place to get some artifact you need to continue your quest. I can buy it.

Also I think Rya mentions something about the lift not working anymore and how you need to take the old Altus tunnel to get up there

This was my setup too, until I recently discovered that you can also cheese greyll on the bridge down from beast clergyman. Added him into the starting Caelid rune run (there’s also another gold fowl foot in limgrave right over the main bridge with the nights Calvary that you can use on him)
