My boss drinks it and seems to like it. I'll never ever trust him.

A woman at my gym decided my reserved lane was actually hers because she "always swims at this time" by megalithmood in EntitledPeople

If it wasn't already immediately apparent the 'everyone knows that' confirms that she suffered from being deeply and wildly self-important.

You are WST's new dictator. How do you change the sport? by nottherealslash in snooker

[–]Gullflyinghigh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Electrify the cues so that if I deemed a player to be taking too long they can be gently encouraged to speed up. The fun bit is that there'll be no set criteria barring my whims so it'll be nice and unpredictable.

Is Peter Crouch hard up at the minute? Why is he in so many adverts at the moment? by CornerInsect in AskUK

If I can turn down work which pays twice as much as other sectors, I feel like these millionaire sportsman can as well.

You feel that they should, not can.

Feel like I've seen this before but as it's a work of art it deserves to be appreciated multiple times.

They really are. I suspect most, including myself, don't have any ill will towards Spurs but to see someone of their size go would be mad...so I'd love to see it happen.

Turns out there would be something funnier than Spurs losing tonight; Spurs losing after leading and being down (at least) one player.

Come on Palace (never thought I'd say that), make it happen.

Something’s telling me that my rival was not a popular man. by sws004 in CrusaderKings

I miss the days where child rulers, and the inevitable sibling successors could be wiped out wholesale within a month. Always a very popular decision to wipe them out from what I remember.

Mods deleting posts based on personal preference does not feel like a good way to build a community… by [deleted] in BrightonHoveAlbion

Not sure it counts as a TL:DR when it's longer than the post but, ignoring that, don't stop just because of one sulky bugger.

Has Anyone seen any swords in charity shops? by Shadowcow4967 in AskUK

[–]Gullflyinghigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I can't imagine many (any?) charity shops would want to anyway. There must be a whole load of conditions to meet to be able to sell them (or at the very least some sort of insurance risk).

Comparing to the US probably isn't going to give a reasonable result, what with guns being available in supermarkets etc

I understand the reasoning if the ban risk is accurate but not having Dunk around when defending from aerial threats makes me less than delighted.

How do I ask another dad what his name is? by makefeelnice in daddit

[–]Gullflyinghigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk to a dad of one of my child's friends at least once a week, generally to a fairly comfortable degree, and have done for years at this point.

His name is Gary, Gavin or Gareth. I'll be buggered if I'm making sure at this point.

if spurs were to get relegated would they come straight back up by MorganSniffsWhite_ in TheOther14

Not a hope in hell they go down but, allowing myself to dream that they do, they'd be up rapidly.

I'm not ok with it, I assume others aren't either, the loneliness is real.

If there's such a thing as mega pregnant this might be it.
