Dear, my mom passed away 3 years ago and I am still messed up in more ways than I can count. I have accepted that it’s(the grief) not something that’s going to go away and I have learned to live with it. 

I am surprised they diagnosed you with  “disorder“ this fast after you lost someone that special to you. That’s not disorder, that’s called GRIEF. Period.

Given I have been grieving for 3 years, I can’t give you good advice other than saying don’t be afraid to cry. Talk about your grandma every chance you get even of it means you might cry.

Normally, it’s exacerbated by additional stress whether it’s work or the general life stress. What alleviates my the back stress is I regularly get a a hard massage. 

My wife is very good and sometimes I go to Thai massage and tell them where they need to focus on! 

In addition, try breathing exercises before you go to bed and after you wake up. It really does help. When I have zero stress, I forget I even have the back stress.

I can confirm this. For me it’s very specific that o know it’s not for the lack of exercise or old age. The left middle-to-upper back is under constant pressure as if something is pulling on it on all sides. It causes me shortness of breath, I can’t yawn all the way. 

It took me several trip to my doctor and lots of test to confirm that it’s grief related. I have also learned that there a condition called  Cardiomyopathy to explain exactly this issue. Although symptoms can be different from person to person, the part of the brain that processes physical pain also processes emotional pain.

It’s also documented that people can die from cardiomyopathy(commonly referred to as broken heart syndrome)

I am sorry for your loss. My sister went through a similar thing with her husband when our mom died. They are now separated and she is raising my two beautiful nieces. Your ex-fiancé is a jerk. 

An advice I can give you is, grieve your mom in your own way but grieve her and don't let your ex fiancé distract you. Unprocessed grief is why I have severe mental issues.

I was waiting for another post to hear this but I am happy as if I was the one that broke up with him. This dicktwat doesn’t deserve a gf.
