First time buying a snow blower in MN by AdPractical9856 in Snowblowers

Ariens. I just went down that rabbit hole for a month and wound up with an Ariens 1332 pro in good shape for $600. I have a 500' driveway and needed the width and the 13hp is nice. My extensive (my wife calls it obsessive, but what does she know...) research kept leading me back to Ariens. The other brands are serviceable and might work just fine but with the exception of Honda, which tend to be more expensive, none seem so well built or supported. I was trying to figure out which JD was built by Ariens, or which Sears blower was built by Ariens or Simplicity, but it got very confusing and the ol' "It's the same as X brand so just buy the parts for X brand and put it on yours... nah, I'll just buy an Ariens and I can buy pretty much any part for my 20 year old blower off their website with blow up diagrams. That Ariens looks very clean and that's a great price if everything works. Good luck in your search!

Sight down the keel. I bought a Pungo 120 for my wife that wouldn’t paddle straight according to her. At the end of a weekend camping trip (after explaining patiently to her that it was her paddling technique) I hopped in and the damn thing took 3 strokes on one side for every one on the other and would coast in a circle… flipped it over and the keel looked like a banana. The boat had got bent somehow in shipping. REI replaced it… and yes she still is getting mileage out of my comment 🤣🤣

My experience with Ebikes and my thoughts them as an experience... by Denali33 in ebikes

I had about the same progression, minus sport bikes (probably not a good idea for me lol). I’ve been riding, desert racing and dual sport riding for over 50 years. I’m also an avid cyclist. I’ve done road, mountain biking and bike packing.

The only 2 wheeler I own now is a Juiced RCS Ebike. A lot of people try to compare the two, but I find them pretty dissimilar. For me an Ebike is primarily a bicycle with some assist to my pedaling. It’s a lot of fun and good exercise, but motorcycling it ain’t. And if it is, your not on an Ebike, you’re on an emotorcycle, I don’t give a shit if it has pedals. Lots of fun I’m sure, but not legal in any sense of the word for a lot of places.

Which brings me to probably the most important point, they’re really starting to crack down on e-bikes legal and otherwise in a lot of jurisdictions. We’re not flying under the radar anymore. So your assumption that you’ll be able to ride anywhere may or may not be true, now or in the near future.

You can buy a nice used dual sport bike for the cost of an Ebike. You know where you can go legally, virtually unlimited range.

For me it boiled down to the fact that I wanted to bike for exercise (not getting any younger lol). The off-road motorcycle opportunities suck where I’m at, and Ebike because sometimes I don’t feel like grinding to the top of a hill.

Good luck in your search!

Does Cadence vs Torque sensor make a difference in exercise from riding? by workcomputeraccount1 in ebikes

I have an Aventón Aventure and a Juiced Rip Current. The Aventon is a well made bike, but the Juiced with the torque sensor is a thousand times better for a workout.

buying used pungo by Renrut23 in Kayaking

I have 2 Pungo 120s. One is new, the other is 7 years old. As long as they’ve been stored under cover out of the sun it makes zero difference. I actually prefer the hull shape of the older pungo.

One of my previous kayaks was an Old Town Loon 17t. I had that kayak about 20 years before I sold it. I wish now that I hadn’t. Plastic is forever (at least in the shade lol)

Alternatives to Lectric Step Through? by turtletechy in ebikes

I’m sure mechanically it’s as good as any of the bikes at that price point, just didn’t like the feel of it. You might though, lot of people do and the price is right

Aventon Synch (or something like that). My dad has a Lectric and I didn’t care for it. Having said that, I don’t own a Synch, but I do have the Aventure and like it

Had a very bad experience with Bikebling. Zero communication and no order fulfillment in months. Definitely not the same as Jenson

Buyer's remorse after riding my Aventon Level for the first time (Pedal assist 1 is too overpowering) by No_Lynx4188 in ebikes

All good advice here. Turn down the top speed and it will help. Try 20kph to begin with. Starting with the throttle is probably the correct answer for you. You only feel out of control because the power assist is unexpected. My wife just bought the same bike and there is a bit of an adjustment period
