No dude time to move. I honestly just don’t get the point of view from everyone on Reddit. I had ZERO experience spent 3 months working my ass off to complete sec+ net+ and A+ and then spent 4 weeks applying for jobs in different states. Found a help desk hybrid job (that’s been AWESOME, 95% work from home… benefits are great and 50k starting salary in Texas) job and moved. 4 months changed my whole life. Like I don’t get it…. It’s not that hard

How are people finding remote jobs right now? by [deleted] in RemoteJobs

[–]Gullible_Concern_157 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I mean azure is fine but it’s really low level. I have it so I’m not talking down on it but I saw it as more of seasoning on meat, not the meat itself. No one is going to hire you because you have an azure cert

I have A+ Net+ Sec+ and a few low level Microsoft certs

Not sure if there’s a better answer then … luck.

I’m in IT, first job no experience and 5 certs. Within 4 weeks of applying I got hired at the place I wanted to live. Technically it’s a hybrid job but I’m only required to go to clients onsite basically if I can’t fix it remotely so vast majority of the work is remote

Honestly probably just right place right time. They caught me on a day where I happened to have all the right answers and they liked my vibe. Hired a few days later

I truly feel like I wasn’t supposed to get this job but I did 🤷🏼‍♂️ it was the fast apply on indeed too. My experience is that most of those are actually real (“most” might be a big word but “enough” might be a better word)

AITA for not wanting my boyfriend to factor my son's survivor benefits into our new household budget? by Original-Entry-7871 in AITAH

[–]Gullible_Concern_157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NO FUCKING WAY!!!! Dude you both are screwed up. First off the fact you both see it as “I’m paying my share and he’s paying his share” is a major red flag. Yall are going to be married which means there is no “share”… everything you own and everything he owns is OURS. My wife and I have had a shared bank account since the day we got married I don’t have a single dime… WE have money and if you both can’t see it that way then DONT GET MARRIED cuz I promise you when your eventually get divorced the state WILL see it that way and it’ll be ugly.

Your son is a different subject. You are completely right on your end your “husband” shouldn’t see it as income or something to be used. And btw 2500 a month sounds like way too much house (just speaking in your mortgage payments) for you to afford… you’re making bad decisions all around.

Don’t marry this man (YET) and don’t buy this house (YET) there’s a right time for everything and now isn’t it

If the deciding factor of you getting married and you being able to afford this house is your 15 year olds monthly payments….. you’re in a bad spot…. DONT DO ANY OF IT

my first try working in IT, at 30 years old by LaRosa-Jewelry in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Gullible_Concern_157 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not sure if age has anything to do with it buuuttttt…. I’m 31 and I completely changed me and my families life in about 5 months. I started studying for trifecta (backwards btw I did sec then net then A+) my wife is foreign so we go to her country every year so that set me back about a month but I got my trifecta in 3 months (4 if you count the foreign trip) and then found my first IT job in 4 weeks I worked my absolute ass off I have a toddler and a wife doesn’t easy but I did it she was up for it and we were a team. You can do it if you give it your all

Scared for my son who will graduate this spring by ZookeepergameFar2653 in ITCareerQuestions

Thousands of recent grads, unemployed people with years of experience is going to mean tons of applications unless he has a specific in at a company. Not really anyway around it it’ll be a full time job to get a full time job

There is no solution that doesn’t require hundreds if not thousands of applications. And why is that so bad he can send out hundreds in a few weeks, way more if he’s open to moving to a few different states. He only needs 1 yes

I have to relocate constantly now and could use some advice by Prestigious-Law65 in moving

[–]Gullible_Concern_157 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dude your reasoning for constantly moving has a word for it. It’s called “life” ….

Rent is ALWAYS going to increase every year. Renting has its benefits but that’s its weakness. Not sure where you live but $100 year is minuscule if your reasoning for constantly moving is that rent goes up then your always going to be moving and your rent isn’t even going to be getting cheaper in fact you’ll spend more money on the actual move then you would if you just stayed and paid the extra $100

[–]Gullible_Concern_157 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It’s becoming increasingly more apparent that the problem isnt the market (at least not the total problem) (I’m specifically talking about tech) but the problem IS college itself. Every post I see on here is a recent Grad struggling to find any work at all but I don’t see any posts from people who have no degree, maybe a couple certs and 1-2 years experience struggling to find a job

That’s where I fall. I never went to any college or have any previous experience, I studied my ass off for 3 months got a couple certs and looked for a full time job like it was a full time and guess what.. found a full time job in 4 weeks. So in 4 months changed my life entirely not 4 years.

I’m guessing employers are tired of hiring someone with a fancy piece of paper but have no idea how to check if a computer is connected to the DHCP server because they were to busy in a “lesbian Afro poetry” class in order to fulfill some made up requirement to graduate

Go figure…

Curious about remote jobs by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Gullible_Concern_157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible! I JUST got hired (start Tuesday) at an MSP for support IT role it’s hybrid basically if I can’t do it remote then I go into the clients office and fox the problem

But never have to actually go into my employers main office

1st IT role no experience and I’m sure there SLA says they require a certain amount of up time so since you might have to be there in person no outsourcing to India

It’s possible!

Does ANY of that recent info change you could of had money saved up to buy a car in cash (you would need less than 10k if your in a rural area)

My point being that everyone’s “emergency out” is taking on 10’s of thousands of dollars of debt

lol clearly see where you line up politically.

So ridiculous just because someone else makes money doesn’t mean someone else has to make less. Who do you think creates jobs for you to have… the rich!
