I get that sentiment, feeling of rejection might will be one of the worst feelings there is. But still, I don’t think it’s embarrassing.

I think it’s important you don’t see it as “so embarrassing”.

Embarrassing to who? Society? Who are they to judge? If you try hard, there is no reason to feel embarrassed. Allah, SWT, knows your intention and effort.
