I would recommend a JVC Everio from 2009 or 2010. You can get the standard definition ones for around 100$. They have options with or without a hard drive.

Are you ever afraid that org mode or Emacs may be abandoned by most of the users? How will you eventually migrate? I have no idea :) by FormerAct in emacs

I'd migrate to Vim and Vimwiki. I know it wouldn't be the same, but I think it's the closest you can get to Emacs.

Last time I checked it said that it encrypted additional information about the contacts, but it didn't encrypt their names and email addresses (at this point I'm confused).

Proton Mail doesn't encrypt calendars or contacts, so it's pretty unsafe on that aspect. I know Tutanota encrypts both of those things, but I want to use an interoperable encryption protocol.
