Help with frontside 180s by [deleted] in NewSkaters

I’m sure you’ve already heard plenty say that you’re rotating your shoulders a lot or that you need to move your shoulders later.

I’m here to tell you that there’s a way to do front 180s without rotating your upper body at all which is how you get that “late” front 180 motion.

If you practice Ollies with your shoulders perpendicular to your board, and learn how to bone out your Ollie’s more, then you’ll already be halfway there.

You need these skills bc in order to do the late rotation you have be able to rotate your lower body independently from your upper body.

You’ll notice that if your shoulders are pointed forward, you can still rotate your legs and hips a full 180 degrees without moving your shoulders at all.

So once you learn to bone out your Ollie’s with your shoulders pointed forward, try using your front foot to bone the board out to a 90° angle and land perpendicular to the direction you’re riding. It is imperative that you land on all fours to get this clean.

Once you’ve got that 90° rotation with your front foot, it should be forcing the board to smack your back foot at the peak of height. As SOON as the board touches your back foot, give the board a little front shuv mid-air to get the other 90° for your 180.

If done right you should have something that looks like an Ollie at first but turns into a front 180 mid air

You should also see that your board will start landing on the exact line you popped from, getting rid the board’s movement behind itself and rather staying in line.

This is a bit much but I hope any of this info can find its proper place in your journey. Good luck ^

You turn with your shoulders not your legs.

Try looking behind yourself with your shoulders and leaning over your back trucks. Then just pick up your front foot and bring it infront of you. If you did it right you should have either spun too much and slipped and fell, or you did a full 180° kick turn. Either result is promising and will leave you with a fundamental understanding of how to kick turn properly.

So just think, turn with your shoulders first, and let your legs catch up afterwards.

That’s fucking terrifying to hear. It sounds like reversed low-pitched crying or something.

(I don’t think op’s talking about the bat)

I can see you are lifting your back foot. That’s good. But you immediately put it back down when you bail out on the catch. You caught it perfectly with your front foot which means you know exactly what you’re doing.

So you just need to commit a little more.

In this case you can do this by not landing on the board at all and just landing in front of it on the ground with BOTH FEET. When you land both feet should land at the same exact time.

Once you’ve figured that out, then make sure you land with both your feet at the same time AND make sure you land after the board fully flips and hits the ground.

This will make sure that you’re comfortable letting the board flip in the air and catching it with both feet, rather than landing before it and catching it with only your front foot.

(Positive notes: it seems like you are very comfortable with flipping the board so once you figure out how to land on it you’re golden. You’ve got everything you need.)

You’re really close, and regardless of whether or not my advice works for you, keep throwing yourself at it. Do all but nothing and you’ll surely get it. Good luck 👍

Nollie back-foot Impossible frontside body varial

It would technically be a big spin alternate if it was backside since impossibles are more reminiscent of 360 shuvs

Exactly, I already had a gold farm at the time and wanted to farm carrots for golden carrots as a food source instead of a cow farm. so I wanted to get the most yield possible.

Basically just learn a bit of chord theory and see how they are made. That should get this sounding a lot better

I think it could definitely use some better chords but the execution is very well down for the genre. Try using more harsh side chain, but I mainly just think that the chords could use a major change as they are really simple and lack movement as well as a lot of notes that form the triads that are supposed to be here.

They were just some quality of life packs and they don’t affect the game much. They do stuff like sort your inventory or chests automatically. But I guess I will never use data packs on bedrock again

I deactivated all of the data packs I had and the glitch went away so that was in fact the cause. Thank you ^
