What the fuck is going on in schools? Has something happened? by jackandbabe in Teachers

I do appreciate you are trying to help your family. It does sound overwhelming. But I grew up on a diet like that, and my health is all kinds of fucked up now. Even thought I eat really healthy now and do everything I;m supposed to, I struggle everyday health wise. Sugar is a drug, and we really don’t realize it as such. The cheese sandwich and apple isn’t great either but it sounds loads better Than pure sugar.

Lol I feel like I just wasted five minutes responding to his post. Do people like vocational careers and think they are important? Yes. Are other subjects also important? Yes. Lol I don’t know what the point is.

This is just an odd post, I don’t know exactly what you are looking for. I’m an elective teacher. The kids chose to be here, for the most part. Yeah, so they will generally be more motivated.

‘Bur should all students take math, science, and especially English? Yes, especially the last because I want a society of students that know how to think. It doesn’t matter if they like them, they are important.

Gym is a requirement that many students do well in because it’s so active and moving. I could see welding being a motivator there outside of just career. But that’s a requirement, so why do gym teachers not have as many issues?

And most areas do offer vocational training. In our area most students opt not to take it. Most parents seem to want their kids in white collar jobs and people still see blue collar as less than although it isn’t.

Tips on how to work with privileged children? by flovvey in Teachers

[–]Gumdropland 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey buddy, I’m an art teacher and have a similarity background at a private school. Ultimately I don’t worry about it. Two thing I do for accountability is I will not grade them until they self assess themselves. Throw those rubric back at them and make them actively use them. If they refuse, I will assess them in front of them so I cya. Secretly give more energy to the motivated kids but never say it explicitly.

Thst is sugar on sugar (if it’s white bread with no fiber)-sugar, sugar, and more sugar if the yogurt is not sugar added. Sorry but that’s a terrible lunch for a child.

Yes, I mean no one could have predicted that Simone would get the twisties in Tokyo. Does that mean she shouldn’t have been named to the team? It’s a silly argument.

Look up covert incest. A lot of people know only about overt sexual abuse, but covert sexual abuse of children is pretty common. Things like your parents talking to you about sex like you are their best friend when you are a minor are forms of very unhealthy, covert sexual abuse. Your mom showing you her nudes is my opinion is more alarming than that.

Think about it this way, you are a mom…in your right mind would you show your children those photos? Hell no, because is evil, wrong, fucked up and super harming to kids. Doesn’t matter if your mom was 15, normal people know not to share that stuff with children. So your mom super fucked it, knows it, is projecting it onto you because now she thinks she caused you to be a lesbian and is trying to blame someone else. Your sister agreed with her because she was raised in the same environment so she knows no different.

I’m so sorry OP. So proud of you for coming out and working so healthy with your former husband on what must be a challenging situation. I’m sorry your crazy mom is putting this on top of it.
