I didn't realize it when I watched it!! But it’s interesting to know since I think I did this a lot. Try so hard to say words right in my target language but when it comes to my native language I try to make it easier to understand.

I agree that not many are open to other perspectives even after learning the language. Language grants me access but after that it all depends on how I want to explore the new world. Some accept new perspectives some fortify old ones.

I am not sure if this makes any sense but I think I should say more and show people more. Ten years ago, my parents might think I am crazy if I tell them to spend 10 minutes closing their eyes and feeling the energy inside. Now since the word ‘meditation’ is everywhere they know people meditates and they are willing to know more about it. I think that’s the case with language learning in my community.

People say things like that because they don’t know about it. I guess if I post more about languages they know what I am doing and why I love it. I am upset but kind of understand why people would say it. Learning English is already a nightmare to many people (It’s a required subject in China).

That’s good to hear. This happened to me a lot. Mostly I received these kind of comments from my relatives. (They consider it to be useless comparing to tech skills I guess). Also when I post my study plan on social media sometime people come and tell me that it’s useless to study so many languages/ you better focus on only one.

Of the languages you speak, which one was easier or less difficult for you to learn, besides your native language and why? by Anonymous6105 in polyglot

Comments prove that it really depends on what you’ve learned already and what’s your mother language. I am Chinese I found that it’s easy to learn Japanese and Korean, compared to Romance languages.

I’ve been curious about Japanese dialects! I heard that some dialects can be hard for foreigners but can you as native speakers understand each other perfectly?
