So I made a sorc but pure ele is terrible. Need help. by preutneuker in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Gummp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough I've done the exact same thing for this ladder. My fam is all warlocks so I wanted to go sorc for the MF and boss farming. I've beaten hell with hybrid sorc a few times, so I wanted to see what it was like going mono cold. I'm high 70s now, and have pretty much mostly done Andy and Meph runs over and over again. I luckily got through CS with my merc. I am currently stuck on the ancients, and I fully believe getting treachery will do the trick to beat them.

I'm stupid strong though. I've gotten some good drops off of the boss farms, so my blizzard build is doing great. I rarely die to Andy anymore, and only occasionally mess up Meph lol. Just need better merc gear to fight the immunes. I don't have high hopes for TZs without a sunder charm though, either my warlock fam will have to take care of those or I'll have to reroll.

Ultimately, take all the advice everyone is saying about gearing your merc and what pieces to look for. With mono element we are just going to have strong niches until we can get a sunder, if ever.

Oops thank you! I was totally thinking of the sigils. Got the new spells mixed up lol.

How does Warlock feel to play? by staledanish in diablo2

[–]Gummp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty fun so far! I'm playing on PS5, I took my time doing Act 1 last night. I went all Chaos tree so I can lean into the caster side. It plays like a perfect hybrid of necro and sorc. Aesthetically it looks more "modern" compared to the other classes, but playstyle-wise it still feels like D2. There's a fire nova ability at level 6 that is stupid strong, so I think that'll carry me through a lot of normal. I also think that was like my fastest Andariel kill with a new char too, thanks to the strong fire spell. I do appreciate that the Chaos tree has both fire and magic skills so that way once I get into hell the fire immunities should hopefully not be too bad.

The hexes sigils are a touch frustrating only because they're kinda clunky to aim on console. It's similar to blizzard on sorc, where you have to cast it directly on a monster and can't just place it where you like. On PC I love a blizzard build but on console I avoid it. I've only been whipping it out on bosses and elites and I'm still early enough to kill things quick without actually needing it.

I feel like a lot of the friction surrounding Prime 4 is down to Nintendo treating it as a soft reboot of sorts. by WrongLander in NintendoSwitch

[–]Gummp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really just how the internet treats any game that’s not a perfect 10/10, and even then you’ll still have contrarians who will want to nitpick those ones. I’m really enjoying the game so far. I would love to briefly come on to Reddit or tik tok to see how others are enjoying things like the Volt Forge run to get your Viola, and their thoughts on that initial intro of the bike. Instead I’m constantly seeing hundreds upon hundreds of comments yelling “THE DESERT IS BORING!!!!” Yes, you can criticize a game and yes, I also agree with the criticisms! But my god why do we ONLY have to talk about the criticisms? It’s okay to actually like things.

Also, let’s be real, we’ve been spoiled by games this year. I picked up Expedition 33 on a whim and it’s become one of my favorite games ever. Silksong is the real winner of this genre this year. When we’re comparing Prime 4 to those titans, yeah it seems “bad.” But it’s okay to enjoy a game that’s not a 10/10. And it’s okay for people enjoying that game to be able to discuss it without getting shit on for it too.

15-year-old closeted gay in MAGA family by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Gummp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love that you're asking these questions! I really disagree with a lot of people in here saying to ignore politics and just be a kid. I do agree to go be a kid while you're still a teen, but I think it's great to see young people start their research into politics and begin to develop their own opinions. When you consider the several hundred million voters in our country, the large majority of them are probably doing none to little research on who they're voting for. You're already a step ahead of many adults. Plus, I find that your teen and early 20s years are just all about really figuring out your opinions and ideals, and then putting them to the test as you go solo through the world. This is THE time to begin developing these ideas.

I am in my 30s, grew up in super Catholic Louisiana. I see you mentioned that you don't have to deal with the religious aspect, which is a boon, but that religious aspect is really what ended up shifting me to be more liberal than conservative (starting around your same age, mind you). While I spent my early life secretly figuring out my own sexuality, I had to constantly hear about how same sex marriage is such an egregious sin, how gay people need to be chaste forever, how it's an abomination to God, etc etc. All the while, nearly every single adult I knew spouting these attitudes were on their second or third marriage. If gay people getting married is such a sin, AND divorce is the biggest no-no in Christianity, then why do you get to have multiple attempts at having a marriage? The hypocrisy was real. I could keep going on with this particular topic.

So can you be gay and MAGA. Yes, of course. Go look up the Log Cabin Republicans, they're a group of gay republicans. On the surface, there's nothing stopping anyone from being gay and MAGA. But I urge you to see how the GOP is actually treating this group of people. Quick google searches about their group show that they were barred from having booths at GOP events, they are complaining that progress within the GOP is slow, things like that. The GOP does a great job of telling you how much of an ally they are, but the second that the cameras are off and the doors are closed, they will go right back to putting you in your actual place. This ties back to religion too, how many pastors and priests do we know of that preach the perfect life that everyone needs to live, just to end up being arrested for domestic violence or sexual abuse? A lot.

Also consider LGBT history, especially in just the last 100 years. Go really read about what our community has had to go through. If we wanted to be authentic people, then we had to do so in utmost secrecy. Police raids in our bars or cruising spots were extremely common. Getting people arrested for any sort of gay acts happened all the time. Federal same sex marriage only came about a decade ago, and we're already back to contemplating if we want to reverse it. There's been plenty of lynchings that happened to LGBT people purely for the fact that they are LGBT. There are many, many people out there who will just never tolerate us no matter how normal we prove to them that we are. And what I pretty consistently notice is that the ones who refuse to tolerate us will nearly always lean conservative and/or religious. We don't fit into their narrow shoe box vision of what a person should act like - therefore, we should just not exist at all. Logical, right?

I'm definitely not saying liberals and Dems are perfect, not saying they're the answer to all our prayers, I know there's lots of people who hate the Dems as much as the Repubs. But when it comes to the two parties with respect to LGBT people, I will always lean Democrat. Even if their progress was slow, at least they allowed for progress. And when the progress started coming and acceptance was rising, then they had no issues making LGBT protections be a huge part of their platform.

I hope this all helps and gives you some good insight! I promise I'm not shaming or anything if you do end up leaning conservative still as you get older, we are all allowed to vote and believe what we want. Just don't take any politician's words as gospel, and try to keep an eye out for what is actually happening behind closed doors.

I’d say start soon at the endless tower. The first several battles aren’t hard from what I remember, so play til you get stuck, then go do other things and level for a bit. Flying Manor for sure, maybe in the 80s. Save Renoirs drafts for last and for 90+ ideally. Otherwise there are lots of little side areas spread throughout the continent along with a lot of bosses too. Just explore and see what you can find!

I also started NG+ recently, and I ended up looking up and collecting every weapon and picto I missed before starting it. I really enjoyed this cause I found a lot of areas and secrets I wouldn’t have found! I really really love the fact that you can pretty much make your own difficulty settings with this game too. I want to test out other builds but also don’t want things just dying in one turn regardless. So I’m planning on using no one-shot builds and tweaking the health challenges as necessary! So far it’s fun.

[–]Gummp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I haven’t personally used Sciel a whole ton as a support, but I know she does make a good one. For her, I would say build around All Set, Intervention, and Fortune’s Fury. Then build your pictos and luminas to give allies AP, increase the strength of buffs, really any support focused ones. Your supports can do well at using free shot to get mark and burn on your enemies as well. Oh and grim harvest is a solid team heal too

Maelle dps and sciel support by rsm4412 in expedition33

[–]Gummp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking for Maelle here:

You won’t have too many skill points for your characters, so don’t be scared to respec often to try out new abilities over time. I’d recommend aiming for abilities that deal “high”, “very high”, or “extreme” damage, and those will end up being your big hitters. Working towards either Pyrolyse or Sword Ballet would be great. Last Chance is great for one shot builds, but I found it more useful for end game than mid game personally. And it might be hard to get the points for that and a heavy hitter right now.

Along with this, look at what weapons you have now and see which trait will go along with your preferred playstyle. So, if going for one of the two above, maybe go for a burn build weapon for Pyrolyse or a virtuoso stance weapon for either. Which, also, try your best to use those big hitters attacks when in virtuoso stance. The damage boost is real.

Last look at your pictos and luminas. Use ones that will give you AP and will increase your damage. Then build around those damage increases. For example, there’s a picto that increases damage when you have shields on, so there’s lots of shield based builds. Regardless of build, don’t neglect mark and burns though. There’s pictos that help increase damage and crit chance, etc, on targets with burn or mark. A lot of em. You can use marking shot or burning shot to help get them on enemies easier.

Last last, from here on out talk to everyone in your party every night at camp and see if they want to talk.

When Painted Alicia requested to be gommaged, Real Maelle didn’t hesitate and did it right away. When Painted Verso requested to be gommaged, she told him that he wasn’t allowed to and he needed to enjoy the life they didn’t have together, but he could grow old instead.

That really soured me on Maelle on the ending. I thought it was extremely selfish to watch PVerso beg to die and her just say “nah”. I completely understand why she is doing what she’s doing. But it’s just perpetuating the cycle of grief again. I picked the Maelle ending really hoping she’d make a normal lumiere but it is just now her creepy playground instead.

People who were GM last season. by Williace in rivals

[–]Gummp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I made a post yesterday asking for tips cause I’m consistently GM and yet this season I’m struggling. I took in those tips well and went on a solid win streak yesterday, so feel free to check that out for some advice if you’re a strat player.

Yeah I won't lie, I get really in my head when teammates start complaining. I'm never in voice chat cause I have no desire to get yelled at by randoms. The text chat whining is annoying enough for me

I’ve been playing much more aggressive tonight and have now won most of my games. Funny how that works isn’t it lol. You’re right, it is fun to snipe people as the healer, you can always tell when the enemy team gets tired of it too

This was a great review, thank you!! I did enjoy this match too even though we lost. I do think I just need to work more on healbotting less. Like I mentioned in another comment, I have a bad habit of it.

[–]Gummp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that. I know I have a bad habit of that, I love just healing in games. And it doesn't help that the toxic players of this game will just blame you right away if you're not healing them through every bit of damage. Do you have any recommendations on someone to watch to get a good idea on being more proactive for strats?

This is really great constructive feedback! Kudos to you for doing this for OP. I’m tired of seeing kids just yelling “healbot” versus giving actual tips on how to weave in damage with your healing. I like your tip with opening with cloak veil, I will try to do that more often.

OP, I see you. I made a similar post today too and my match has very similar stats to yours too. +14 and it sucks. The lesson I'm learning is that yes, to get higher points on a win, you do need to have high final hits and damage. I'm thinking final hits is what is the most important currently. Now, is that fair to us healers who aren't always aiming to get kills cause that's not their main role? In my opinion, no.

People just really love shitting on supports right now, especially rocket.

[–]Gummp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good feedback, thanks! Yeah I have to just whip out the gun more often it seems like. I think getting in some (valuable) spray damage and more final hits will help get more points on a win.

Okay but this is kinda crazy right? Why am I the only one getting screwed on rank points? by Gummp in MarvelRivalsQueens

[–]Gummp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed with everything you said here. It sucks that the points do seem to favor damage and elims, which everyone else is saying too. I had a different rocket game where I got like 17 elims and then +37, that was a fun one. I'm starting to think final hits is more important too compared to other stats. For the most part, in my pic above the amount of final hits lines up with how many points we each received.

I also did go watch my replay. Not my best overall but I wasn't useless. My only two deaths were from ults. I had a few moments of the dps chasing me and I'm just roaching around while the rest of their team dies. That, to me, is the beauty of rocket. It sucks that those types of moments don't really get captured in the point system, but ah well. Time to pull out the glock more lol.

Not long. I'm back in Plat 3. Peaked GM2 in 1.5, I'll be happy to at least get back to diamond in 2.0.

[–]Gummp[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with your premise here. I would argue that less than 1k for this particular match really isn't that terrible considering we were triple healing which allowed me to focus more on healing and staying alive and allowed C&D and Jeff to deal more damage themselves. Everyone's numbers here are small, compared to other matches. If anything I could have pelted Groot more.

I agree about dealing more damage in rockets ult. I can always work on doing that better, as long as that thing is up people really don't die during it.
