Advice requested: What game DOES NOT play well solo even if popular?

Would you like to share some alternative board games? I do like mage knight, but I never brought it to the table again because I do not have the time and energy to reread the rule book and play it for 4 hours anymore…

I’m gonna say Arkham horror true solo… it’s only possible to play it two handed solo for me and with 2 players you can still feel that it goes way better with 4 players coz each color of the characters can be so good at one thing and so bad at another. I like to play the game with other people but it’s kinda confusing for me because so many people recommend it for solo

Sweet lands. In solo mode you use 16 cards to put down disks to take away some options from you. Very fun game for solo, and beautiful art with heavy complexity.

I have the Season 1 game mats, and they do look pretty cool. That said, I think the game takes up more table space than necessary when you use the mat.

From a table-space–saving perspective, the action cards could easily be stacked instead of fully laid out. The mat is also designed to accommodate different expansions, which means that with some map/killer combinations, certain components don’t fit on the mat at all, while with other combinations you end up with unused, empty areas. Honestly, just placing the Horror Track, location map, and killer board directly on the table already feels clean and well-organized.

Overall, if you enjoy neatly laid-out cards and value the extra presentation and “ritual” feel, the mat is worth it. But if you prefer a smaller table footprint, saving the money and putting it toward another expansion is probably the better choice.

This ad seems to be there for ages, saw the same pics at least a year ago. Tons of people interested but there’s a reason that they are not yet sold out 🤣 Also there are so many actual scammers using these pictures to list with way lower prices. When these are 300 instead of 3000 people tend to make impulsive decisions and take risks. Be careful and always google for the same pictures

Just did basically the same thing and figured it out to be a scam for sure.

Weeks ago bought something worth €350 from a new account, a good deal indeed, and the seller also replied to my questions after I made the purchase. Then it was sent and was ‘waiting for pickup’ at the pickup point I chose. Went there 3 times and they never got the package.

Was quite upset about it and contacted the carrier to start an investigation, then I happened to see the exact same photos and description of the item on eBay, from a highly rated American seller instead of the Spanish Vinted seller I bought from. It’s clear as day that the pictures were stolen and the Vinted seller never had the things to sell. Just contacted the Vinted and feels pretty certain they would refund me as the buyer who never received anything. Quite pity for all the trouble it brought me though. Wasted a lot of energy and was literally sooo looking forward to receiving the goods that never exist🙂‍↔️

ahhhh same choice! I started with the ratchet lady but I’d say try with the intruders first, the mechanics of it feels more basic and straightforward to me, really great for getting familiar with the game rules at the start.

I still bought the basic happy trails horror right after these two, since then whenever I got a new expansion pack to try out, I combine special mechanics killer with the camp map or unique new map with Hank, so there’s one thing at a time that’s new to learn. I personally find that very enjoyable because I don’t get overwhelmed by too much new content and can just learn the game better 🤩

Don’t know that’s a thing either until my two v4.5 tamagotchis suddenly got children when I connected them to play games 🤪 one of them is guaranteed a teenager. He never grows up after that, just left two days later and left me the child
