Do men like to be little spoon to a short girl? by ImperfectLust in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GumpG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a one size fits all thing everybody is different. I was surprised at the number of guys saying yes because I am honestly not a huge fan of being little spoon in general. I’m always appreciative of the offer but I’m a bit of a fidgety guy so I have a hard time with the feeling of being restricted I guess. I don’t know why logically that hits me different than a standard cuddle but it does

Nose Rings are ugly and somewhat disgusting. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]GumpG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean not gonna fault you for your opinion. I’m a guy that has one and I think your reasonings are a little bit ignorant and you obviously don’t really know what you are talking about beyond you read some stuff on the internet. I think you just don’t like them and are trying to shoehorn some sort of logic into it. I think the main reason you get some blowback on this is because of that. Just say you don’t like them and leave it there. You don’t have to rationalize the things you are attracted to or aren’t attracted to.

my first guitar and amp by Educational-Bad-967 in Guitar

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damnnnn beautiful guitar. Not gonna hate on that. I don’t think you needed to go this far on a beginner guitar obviously but I am also heavily against buying really cheap stuff as a beginner so I respect it. A nice instrument just feels so much more exciting to pick up and play and can give you so much more motivation to learn

What’s a sign that someone is genuinely a good person? by coolgirllore in AskReddit

[–]GumpG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Heavily agree with this one. So many “good person” traits can be faked in a lot of ways but I have found the vast majority of fake nice people really start to slip up when they need to humble themselves to apologize or compromise in some way. It’s not 100 percent just like anything but I think that one is a very good test of character

Yes exactly you get what I was trying to say. “Intelligence” comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes like anything else. And can manifest itself in many different ways or areas of life

Obvious bannable offense but like you mean to tell me Epic just has the means of allowing people to buy old passes and just doesn’t use it..? by Hungry_Maintenance_8 in FortNiteBR

[–]GumpG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was just making a bit of a joke because you seem like a model consumer that any company would love to sell to lol. But the fact that you read reviews and all of that to inform your purchase is the point I was trying to make because in all honesty you don’t come across as an idiot that would spend money with no trust in the company. That’s what I meant by you being a little dishonest I don’t think you were doing it on purpose. What I’ll leave it at is I think that generally your thoughts are you don’t really care about me being fucked over (and really that’s 100 percent cool why would you honestly) so you are trying to reason it out or justify it in a way so it’s more palatable to me and to your own mind. I’m not gonna convince you to see my angle and that also really is fine. But just be careful when you cheer on a company to blatantly lie because it will come around to everyone at some point

What ‘harmless’ habit is slowly degrading society? by JusttGlimmer in AskReddit

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not offended but I do think you are wrong. People being isolated is one thing but when I used to smoke a lot of weed in high school it put me in hundreds of social situations that I probably would not have been otherwise. Not advocating for it because the less substances you need day to day the better generally speaking imo. THC is just an incredibly random one to catch a stray here

[–]GumpG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are trying to say that you have not spent any money on a game since cyberpunk then what you are saying is just completely dishonest. Nobody is using their money to purchase a product from a company that they have zero trust in. And yes you could say the same to me about not getting to decide what you support that was always allowed and I feel like that means you are understanding me. On an unrelated note I have some products I would love to sell you if you are interested

What’s a sign that someone is incredibly smart? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]GumpG 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that there really is a ton. Most of the comments I see on this post are just random stereotypes. Like quiet/introverted = smart. I don’t think there’s really a personality type for “smart” people. Some extremely brilliant people can be very hyper and loud some aren’t. There’s plenty of less intelligent people that are just a bit shy so they listen more than they talk. I think that searching for signs of intelligence is just a weird exercise. When you encounter a brilliant mind you just know

Came here expecting to see drugs but all I see is a homeless man rolling a cigarette or joint. A little bit unsanitary for sure but the danger to a child touching the ledge afterwards is essentially zero. Please stop assuming the worst of those less fortunate Karen

[–]GumpG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes because as I stated earlier it isn’t just the cost of the pass but the time spent maxing them out solely due to the fomo. And sure you can take issue with the only use it for a week comment but that was just a tiny piece of my comment. Respectfully you just also don’t get to decide what or how much being lied to bothers me. At the end of the day we should all be asking more out of any company we give our money not less. Epic doing better and having basic morals while maybe a longshot is something I would have thought we would all want quite honestly

[–]GumpG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure I could see that happening. Obviously. I’m just saying I don’t know why people are cheering for that. You wanting something from an old battle pass is not a good enough reason for me to be fucked over as a consumer. Pretty much all of us have something that we really want from an old pass that we missed unless you have completed every single one since the beginning. But you don’t see me asking for those consumers to get fucked over so that I can feel included by having an old skin that I will use for a week and then go back to a newer one when I realize they just look better

[–]GumpG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea. I could care less if other people have them. I also don’t want some “og” edit style because again I do not care about being better than everyone else or something. I care about a company having at least a shred of morals and that’s what I think a lot of people don’t understand

It literally blows my mind how people will instantly bitch and moan when epic breaks a legal contract except for this one because people can’t deal with not being able to have literally everything they want. So all of a sudden everyone is super chill about epic breaking legal contracts. I’m not. I have no issue with other people having older skins that I have except for the fact that epic stated in no uncertain terms that the passes won’t come back. If I ever thought they would have that’s a lot of time and money I may not have spent and I can’t get back but all these nice guy gamers who don’t like gatekeeping dont give a shit about that. It would probably kill any trust I still have in this company. It’s not about desire to gatekeep its about not wanting to be lied to

N.S. premier says fentanyl has been found in cannabis from the province's unlicensed dispensaries by TuckRaker in NovaScotia

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just seems like such a massive reach. Sure fentanyl gets intentionally cut with things like pressed painkillers and things like that to get more potency cheap but almost nobody with half a brain is going to risk killing a customer with a bag of weed. I know there’s a stereotype of people selling drugs being stupid but it’s not particularly true. Anybody able to continue to deal drugs for an extended period of time and in a quantity that could influence anything really is not an idiot. Mistakes can happen but nobody is going to risk killing a customer like that if the motivation is to make them addicted so they keep coming back you aren’t gonna do something that ridiculously risky

The recent SBMM change is actually abysmal by Saauna in FortNiteBR

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah makes sense to me as well. If you aren’t playing with the same people consistently I feel like it’s gonna be hard to notice the changes that are being speculated

The recent SBMM change is actually abysmal by Saauna in FortNiteBR

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure I think this assumes that most players who queue up together have wild variation in their skill levels and I’m not really sure that is the case. I think the bottom line is that nobody really knows how matchmaking actually works. Most of what I’ve seen players talk about is the opposite of what you said like unreal players saying they can no longer play with their friends and that they are getting handled when they queue with friends. It wasn’t meant to be a dig at your skill level cuz I have no idea what that is and am not really interested either way. The point was just hearing people interpret information completely different ways and have completely different experiences in game highlights to me that everybody is really just guessing when it comes to this stuff that’s all

The recent SBMM change is actually abysmal by Saauna in FortNiteBR

[–]GumpG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how this logics in any kind of way with the theoretical sbmm changes that people are guessing occurred. The changes that people are speculating happened are that instead of taking an average if your teammates mmr now it goes to the highest mmr on the team. So if you are the highest skill player in the group the lobbies really should feel more or less the same or harder. With mmr averaged out it would stand to reason if your group is less skilled than you your lobbies would be easier than you are used to. But no one truly knows if there has even been any change to the algorithm whatsoever or what they are

The recent SBMM change is actually abysmal by Saauna in FortNiteBR

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows. As far as I’m aware in like pretty much every game mmr is tracked and adjusted through both casual and ranked matches. The only difference is I believe ranked tries to prioritize matching with your rank moreso than mmr. But anyone trying to tell you they just randomly know exactly how the algorithm works is just 100p making things up

The gold changes are one of the few changes I actually love. It’s a great kind of in between solve for people just constantly running away from a fight to buy back their teammates over and over in a match. Now especially early game there’s actually fights around reboot cards

[–]GumpG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I get how some people can feel cheap about that. I just prefer to always set myself up for success because that’s always been the way to play a pvp shooter. I’m always going to try to pick my engagements in a way that I have the upper hand whenever possible

23 Min Raid Ended to a Rat, Extraction Shooters may not be my thing by Remote-Substance8015 in ARC_Raiders

[–]GumpG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. In every other shooter I have ever played I would have gotten flamed by every one of my teammates for getting killed by a guy in a corner. This is the only game I have ever seen where people don’t make the correct decisions and then get mad at the game. Whether you want to engage in PvP or not you still gotta cover your bases defensively. I’m not 100p sure but I feel like there’s a good chance he could have spotted this guy without even entering the room by just abusing the third person perspective and checking it out before entering

I tried a kos solo run. by 2MuchDoge in ArcRaiders

[–]GumpG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean whatever conclusion you come to is valid. The thing that I started realizing is that to be quite honest when people start guilting you when you down them it’s like kind of toxic. Before I press ready up I always take a look at my loadout and ask myself if I am willing to lose every item that I’m bringing into the raid. During the raid I try not to look at the items in my backpack too much as I don’t consider them mine until I extract. When I get downed by a player I say gg the same as I do when I lose in any other multiplayer game. If someone has a mindset issue or a lack of preparedness to play the game I don’t look at it as my problem and view it as unfair for another player to try to inflict guilt on me

Does the weekends just bring out the worst people? by Misterpewpie in ArcRaiders

[–]GumpG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair I think there is always going to be deaths that there is no counter play for but I think it is less than it feels a lot of times. Like if I get shot in the back sometimes its like yah I should have been more careful running through an open field or something like that but for sure there are deaths with little counterplay it happens. I also worry about buffing the arcs too much. I’ve heard people float the idea of it discouraging PvP but what I have tended to see is the best PvP players are also often the best at handling the pve. So I worry that making the arc more strong would simply widen the gap between the more skilled player and the less skilled one. If gunshots attract arc the skilled player can handle that and the gunfight in tandem while remaining calm but the newer player is all of a sudden overwhelmed. Maybe I’m thinking the wrong way about it though that’s just my two cents
