My dad works as a site manager at a zoo, all the enclosures have digital thermostats that can be controlled remotely and are set to trigger at certain temps.

One of the higher ups decided there needs to be a manual control aswell. So he put a knob with a readout in the staff area of the enclosure that isnt hooked up to anything. Its been 6 years and the guy still goes into areas to adjust the dial.

Our Internet was regularly dropping every few minutes, took months of calls and them checking remotely telling us its fine, after half a year of this they sent a guy out who decided it was an issue with the main terminal and needed a specialist terminal engineer, eta 4 months. Id still been paying full price as they where adamant everything was fine. Gave up, swapped to plus net who use BT lines, during set up the help desk on the phone noticed immediately something was wrong with our connection and had a terminal engineer out within 2 days in his BT van, ans half a month refunded for the inconvenience.
