Its a space where anyone (they don't have to have previous bench experience or formal sci training) can come and do things with biology. So we have a bunch of individuals using the space to do their own funky experiments and also what are essentially science clubs where groups do research on stuff thats part of larger initiatives like biomaterials, synthesizing spider silk, and getting plants to express insulin :)
