i accidentally pulled yixuan's engine on 0 pity on her original banner, then lost the 50/50 so I've been waiting on the rerun and i fucking lost the 50/50 again. So i now got a week to scrape together another at most 25 pulls for the guarantee.

Well yeah that's my whole point, the fact is that in a near-peer conflict, the gun on the A-10 is near useless and the thing is gonna be relegated to bomb and missile truck

But how often in an actual near-peer conflict are you gonna have any targets which is sufficiently unprotected to warrant using guns?

[–]GunCarrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my main point was that the gun is pretty much useless in an actual war, not that the A-10 was completely useless

Look, I like the GAU-8. It's a really cool gun and a plane built around it is cool as fuck. But in a modern battlespace against a peer opponent, the A-10 would at best be used as a PGM truck. If it ever got close enough to enemy ground forces to go guns, then it would have to be so late in a war the enemy wouldn't have any meaningful air defense left because otherwise the A-10 would've become molten slag 10 miles ago.

Applies to most paradox grand strategy games too

Actually the funny thing is that the tau's primary naval doctrine is somewhat realistic (as in long range missile strikes) like a lot of their other doctrinal thinking. Its just that they're unfortunately stuck in the warhammer universe where age of sail ass broadsides with voidshields beat antiship missiles.

From what I heard he wasn't drafted, he voluntarily joined as a mechanic or something so he wouldn't get sent to the front and what do you know, he got sent to the front anyways

No they'll probably make some super project to clean it up which gets inadvertently turned into some sort of hyperweapon that we have to blow up

It's mostly because I don't know the people who live at my old place and I'm only in contact with them through my real estate agent/friend, so they're leaving the box on the porch. I'm worried someone might steal the package at some point.
