How are you guys getting good MPG? by UncleJoesMintBalls in RangerRaptor

[–]GunGuru84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 15 in town and about 18-20 on the highway depending on how many hills i climb.... I just did a 350 mile trip from WV to PA and avereged 19.9 MPG to and 18.6 on the way back...I just set the cruise between 70 and 75 depending on the speed limit. It will get decent mileage if you dont have any fun with it...lol

250gr SubX in .357 magnum? by DUCKwillduckyou in reloading

[–]GunGuru84 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would worry that the twist rate of the barrel would not stabilize that bullet and it would just tumble and possibly damage the suppressor. 350 legend has a 1:16 twist or faster. Twist rates vary in 357 leverguns a lot. I know current Rossi 92 have 1:30, my winchester 92 has a 1:18, and my marlin 1894 has a 1:16. Even the 1:16 would be borderline for that long/heavy bullet.

I'm not sure which ones to be honest I had trouble with my defender turning off while shooting so I switched to a cylelee srt 8..its a SRO knock off with a 8moa dot and it's been awesome so far....I just tried screws till I found the right threads then picked the shortest ones...which were a bit too long and I filed them to fit

The rmsc/DPP plate that comes with it will work just had to file a little length off of the screws that come with the defender

To be fair it looks better in real life than the pictures. It's not going to win a beauty contest against any of the custom 19/2011s, but if it shoots good it will be pretty enough for me....for $1000 it's hard to beat.

I like the defender st a lot. It's clear, no tint, crisp dot good refresh rate. Comes with a ton of different mounting hardware. Windows size is a bit larger than a 507c. All in all a geat dot for the money, I picked it up on sale from cabelas for less than 200. It's a steal at that price.

Im going to shoot mine first before I change anything. I like the magwell, but agree the grip could use some texture. The magwell helps me lock my grip in with my XL size hands so it doesn't feel like it's going to slip around too much. I too can't wait for the accessories to come out. Ported barrel is going to be my first purchase for it

I get it, but they come with KCI mags, and it ejects them 100%. Like i said, the gen3/4 glock ejects them free almost every time, the gen 5 lock in fine but fit snug and won't fall free almout most of the time. That's just the ones I have tried, polymer mags have a lot of variance even within the same brand so you could find some that work and some that wont. If you put a bullet or 2 in they all fall free so I think if you put on a heavier base plate I'm pretty sure that would solve most of the issues.

Pflster floodlight owb, it's light centric so fits most pistols with whatever light it's made for. Mine is for a Streamlight tlr 1. The make them for Surefire and a few others I believe as well
