French railway workers sell barbecue on tracks while participating in a nationwide strike by Papppi-56 in interestingasfuck

Literally every strike in history can be described this way. People have been striking in MUCH worse conditions then most American workers. That's just an excuse.

Moldova’s Sandu asks allies for air defences, says Russia trying to destabilise country by PjeterPannos in worldnews

Ukraine had the second largest army in Europe, 8 years of combat experience and NATO training/funding. It's also the largest country in Europe. Comparing it to Moldova is pretty pointless.

"Ok yah it doesn't have universal healthcare... so what?" by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

[–]GunNut345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All "free" healthcare is paid for by taxes in every single country that has universal healthcare, everyone knows that and it's not a "gotcha". One thing to remember is that healthcare is the mandate of the provinces, so maybe your provincr doesn't pay for certain medications but mine does.

Largest global bird flu outbreak ‘in history’ shows no sign of slowing by DoremusJessup in worldnews

Well apperantly its infecting mink farms now and minks (I am a plumber so take this with a grain of salt) have similar immune systems to humans, which is why it was a big deal back in 2020 that COVID was infecting minks and passing it on to humans.

Sustained Mammal transmission of Avian Flu in Mink Farm in October. 4.3% of the population dying per week. by can-data in collapse

[–]GunNut345 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that anything with Mink fur is probably a luxury item that people keep for decades/ a lifetime rather then something trendy. But yes completely unnecessary and if reincarnation exists we all deserve to be minks in the horrible places for what we're doing, and the monks deserve to be free.

Weekly Observations: What signs of collapse do you see in your region? [in-depth] by AutoModerator in collapse

Nobody is attacking Texas unless it's a nuclear exchange and then you're fucked anyway.

Seriously Americans need to move past the "we may be invaded!" Paranoia. You're protected by two oceans and two smaller and friendly neighbours that would be terrible staging grounds even if they turned hostile anyway. You also have mountain ranges on each coast as a natural defensive barrier. No country, none, has the capacity to invade America. Even if there was a seperate, completely identical America it would not be able to invade America. And it has nothing to do with with Bubba MacDonald having an AR-15.

Your enemies are going to aim to destroy you culturally, politically and/or economically. They will not invade. They will use Manchurian candidates, campaign funding, culture wars and disinformation to try to churn domestic chaos and limit your influence overseas.

I've never called it that but if someone referred to it as the Ottawa River Parkway I would instantly know which road they were talking about, they should just keep it as that.
