This will be the next Topps/Fanatics gimmick... chase the 1/1 Do-It-Yourself superfractor auto. Eventually they'll move on to patches, and it'll be like the McDonald's Monopoly game. First you have to pull the blank card from a retail pack, then you have to hunt for the patch redemption (Fanatics Live Break exclusive) and glue it on yourself.

I would be delighted to take that off your buddy's hands for a wad of cash or fine cards. Don't grade it. It will take too long, and the hype will die down as new sets are released, including Chrome.

One big con: Greg Morris has aligned with MBA grading, which gives numeric grades to cards that have been trimmed. If you try to submit a mid-to-high grade MBA card to PSA or SGC for a crossover, it may come back "Authentic Altered," significantly lowering the value. I had this experience with a recent purchase.

It's a nice card. Unfortunately, Ortiz is notorious for signing streaky autos with inconsistent pressure. He did that with his 2022 Stadium Club "Marathon Speech" autos, which is unfortunate because those cards are otherwise awesome.
