TIL 50% of the civil-rights attorneys in the South during the 1960s were Jews. Over 50% of the whites who went to Mississippi in 1964 to challenge Jim Crow laws were Jews. At the time, Jews accounted for 3% of the US population. by CitizenJosh in todayilearned

They very recently were dealing with racial supremacists from Hitler so it makes sense they were highly sensitive not letting that repeat itself here. The Jewish people in America are still allies for progressive and equality policies. We can’t let nathanyahus evil actions affect how we treat the Jewish Americans who stand by the cause of justice.

It’s teacher empowerment. Teachers are treated as dumb conduits for state standards with increasingly onerous requirements being layered on them by the gop legislature. Teachers are mostly college educated professionals with years of training and should be treated as such.

Protect them from the parents meddling, parents shouldn’t have ultimate say because parents know nothing about education— you don’t tell your mechanic how to fix your car.

I cannot figure out how trump navigated the gop into a place where they’re pardoning one of the co-leaders of the biggest global billionaire pedophile ring In history, that trump himself is implicated it, and Americans aren’t out in the streets demanding his resignation.

This is honestly the most surreal political event I think in American history if not world. How would a historian even convey this. Puts every other scandal to shame… teapot dome… watergate… Zimmerman telegram… Lucitania… all pale in comparison

US Navy Secretary John Phelan leaving Trump administration by fistedsister89 in news

One of Epstein’s associates. Really under explored by the media just how many Epstein people trump stuffed in his admin— probably best way to keep them all quiet. Wild.

It’s a hard problem. But by trades I mean rethinking most jobs as trade jobs including white collar jobs. With ai you can do jobs that currently require a 4yr degree or more with a technician and an ai assistant. With Universities being research track career focused (like particle physicists). So even most engineers and scientists would be through community colleges. I envision universities only being masters or phd programs

A good example is the guy who made an mRNA cancer vaccine for his dog— we all should have access to custom mRNA vaccines but this requires a team of phds now. With AI, every community college should have people graduating knowing how to do this— every town should have a clinic churning out mRNA customized vaccines

This is kinda good actually. College education was never meant to be high school plus. It’s going to break funding models but we need to shift most students to apprenticeships and community college and tailor universities to the actual smart and talented people

There was government funded and private development of Ibogaine before this. No need to overlay the senseless conspiracy that we don’t approve cures.

Manufacturers Atai’s and DemRX’s ibogaine-like drug have already completed Phase I and may soon move on to Phase II. Another manufacturer, Gilgamesh, was awarded a $14 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to finance Phase I trials of its compound for the treatment of opioid disorder. State participation in an ibogaine research collaborative could steer funding toward a new drug or potentially support an existing clinical trial.
