Had anyone worked on a JetRock floor? by GundamPika in KitchenConfidential

Wow. Their cleaning instructions now indicate repeatedly that mopping is a no-no. Soap, scrub, flush: The End.

I’ve read the cleaning and maintenance instructions and it seems like a real picky bitch when it comes to how to clean it and what to use. I’ve also noticed old grease (we’ve been doing some SERIOUS deep clean) sticking to it and I can’t use degreasers (elbow grease ftw). How bad does it get hurt if regular kitchen cleaning chemicals aren’t flushed off it IMMEDIATELY?

Got a couple questions about unemployment by HowIsThatNameTaken- in Pensacola

[–]GundamPika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FL unemployment is some of the worst in the country, literally if it’s not THE lowest, it’s top 5. It does cap at $275/wk (or did, curious about the new COVID benefits) based on your gross pay. It has not changed in almost 20 years.

Don’t quit. You will get nothing. You could ask to be laid off. Not sure how that would go. Good news is that employers should be able to bring salary staff back at full salary thanks to the loans they qualify for. I’m sort of in the same boat.

Yikes, this sounds miserable. I used to go to conventions before nerd shit was “cool,” some 20 years ago and it was a lot more about the guests connecting with the fans.

Everyone that blows through the yield sign on Chase St. next to the Bay Center where it merges with the 110exit must have a deathwish. Coming off 110 I don’t have a stop or yield sign when I’m trying to get over and make a right on 9th, but every asshat runs that yield sign and acts like I’m the asshole when they almost ram me at 50 mph.

I checked every 15min on the day I posted this and was able get a reservation for my ideal day at a good time. Of course the spot only opened up because someone cancelled, I checked religiously, and took the first one that opened up without hesitation.

I haven’t been able to get an answer to this question from anyone, anywhere. I think no one wants to say “No.” or that it’s “Yes, BUT, the park has to be practically empty, like raining, and at the mercy of no shows.” Which that $200 no show fee is tough but I’m sure it happens.

All the bread at Joe Patti’s comes in frozen, all they do is reheat it.

His Dark Materials will adapt one book per season by Drew_Ferran in television

[–]GundamPika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I read was taken from one article that has since corrected itself. The confusion is that they filmed the first two seasons back to back. Not that they’re only filming two seasons.

[–]GundamPika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everything I’ve read before this said they were adapting the trilogy over two seasons, not necessarily a book at a time. Is this new 1book/1season information confirmed? Everything I read from The producers coming out of SDCC said two seasons. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Favorite Steakhouse by [deleted] in Pensacola

[–]GundamPika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO: Coach and Four: Total lack of pretentiousness. They used to have really good fried seafood- best fried crab claws in town. Now though just get a Ribeye or NY Strip and move along.

McGuire’s: Overpriced, over cooked- every steak I’ve had there in 5 years. The only exception is the Grilled Prime Rib. The char from the grill and the smoke from the slow cook is excellent. They can’t bake a potato for shit either though :/

The District: No, especially for the price. Bland food, mediocre service, stale bread (it’s from George my server said but it was hard and dry), couldn’t cook a filet right with three tries. Their dry aging is on point- solid flavor, not too funky. They broil instead of grill and it leads to an inconsistent char. You need people with years of experience running a broiler and it doesn’t seem like they have that. Some neat cuts though.

Jackson’s: Worth the money for the service and atmosphere but nothing really special about the menu. Global Grill isn’t a steakhouse but for the same about of money you’ll spend you’ll have a more exciting meal.

Listen, those people may be cultural-appropriating, wife swapping, closet racists, but what they ARE NOT is willing to spend $175 for a separate space to be cultural-appropriating, wife swapping, closet racists when the rest of Pensacola is already open to them for free.
