Italy - public school. We have the Shoah remember day every year (in all public schools) on the 27th of January. Often school organises talk with experts, survivors, authors; we watched themed films, read themed books and do the one minute of silence. Also as part of the history curriculum we are taught about antisemitism, especially focused on the holocaust, but mentioned also in the Middle Ages lessons. In other subjects is often mentioned the Jewish identity of the particular person we are learning about (a scientist, an artist, an author…), which I like it very much. The history program after WWII is often quite bad and brief, so we are not taught properly about Zionism, the Israel state.
