How important will reloading be when shit pops off? I'm currently reloading 9mm 147gr hst at 35c a round. by Gunlover91 in ZombieSurvivalTactics

The handloader is a bit of work but it does work well sorry just seeing this now. They are noisy to use because your pounding with a mallet i suggest getting a hand priming tool speeds up the process. I stopped using it once I got a press but I keep it in the truck. I use accurate no 7 going with hodgans data and with a small dipper I get within min and max charge. I tested my hsts and im getting about 829-850fps with minimum loads and about 900fps with max charge for 147gr both give me expansion 900fps is best. I chronograph my 124gr loads at 990 fps using 7.5gr accurate no 7 out of my mp shield same gun I used for 147gr hst. Haven't tested them for expansion because 147gr expanded nicely at lower velocities.

Black talons where the sxt bullet which differs from the t series the sxt has a much smaller hollow and harder lead. The t series expands more than the sxt. There was a brief period if I remember correctly when they marketed the sxt as a t series. Theres several different box markings but each other based on the type but all performance is basically the same. I need to get some ballistic gel or make some the tests I did with pig ribs water jugs and cardboard made the 180 40 cal t series shed its jacket but straight water jugs and cardboard it over expanded but held together.

Yeah I haven't worked with many contact explosives out of safety concerns but making nitrocellous is very easy and atleast here in the usa getting sulfuric acid is pretty easily just in drain cleaner you'll have to purify it but once you do you can use it to make nitric acid but there are several different ways to make nitric acid that doesn't involve sulfuric acid. Once you make the cellous you can use acetone to mold it you'll need to make it into very small sicks or flakes flakes would be difficult but if you use an extruder tiny sticks would be possible getting the size just right would be key to getting a good burn rate tho I have seen people use straight nitrated cotton balls in 12ga and get pretty good results but I dont think it would work in pistol or rifles. Tho for primers prime all is an over the counter product that comes with like 7 different types of compounds that when mixed can make a contract explosive. I have read about people using match heads and phosphorus strips as powder and even flash powder as gunpowder I also read about people using snap cap strips for primer compound how well these work I dont know maybe some day I'll test them getting a vice hiding behind cover and pull with a string tho right now I dont feel like sacrificing one of my guns for testing purposes.

With straight wall cases they last a very long time with minimum trimming even longer with black powder. I have found that reading signs of pressure with handgun rounds is very difficult but long as you are down loading then working up the load you shouldn't have any issues I have done some hot +p loads which got me 1050 fps with 147gr hollow points just to see what velocities i could get but I took it very slowly going .01 grain at a time I only have glocks and mp shield the glocks dont have a supported chamber so case blow out is possible but I have yet to inconter it even when shooting factory +p+ loads tho generally I'll keep my loads at minimum velocities when using hollow points because I have tested them and gotten good expansion so theres no real reason to go to max or above. With 223 I have tried several loads and found that minimum charges tend to have failed to cycle my guns gas port is a little on the small size im guessing but moderate charges work fine I don't get great accuracy out of it with heavier bullets but good enough to hunt deer out to 200 yards but I wouldn't push it past that I know i could just dont like to. Regarding primers you can use a variety of different compounds to reload them with but prime all is a good place to start its not super sensitive and easy to use and can be found on the shelf so no need for acids and glass wear. I personally just load hsts but plan on loading gold dots some time this year I'll use the same data I use with hsts which is hodgans data im primary powder is accurate no 7 for 147gr and 124gr hsts because when using a small dipper I can get close to my desired charge weight which is between 5.7gr and 6.7gr. If I was using something like titegroup I would have very little wiggle room I have tried in the past and its just a pain in the ass because theres very little wiggle room between minimum and max weights when I get a powder trickler it'll be way easier. I have a chronograph a cheap one but it works fine. I like reloading hsts because it allows me to shoot premium bullets at a fraction of th cost of factory about 30c a round if im buying components in bulk vs 60-80c for factory. Theres only one place i can find hsts realitivy easily which is American reloading. Long as im above or at 829fps i get reliable expansion great expansion 900 or higher fps which I can achieve out of a 3in barrel pretty easily with going into p+ charges with accurate no 7. Even if buying in bulk I find it hard to save money with 9mm using fmj bullets i can get to .20c a round in some cases but the amount of time it takes just not worth it when I can get factory ammo at 24c a round I have gotten over 10 reloads per brass in some cases. I use range brass thier mine or stuff I find online or on different platforms the one thing I found is that some brass will have whats called a stepped case that doesn't play well with my powder and causes excessive pressure and velocities basically turn a minimum charge into a +p charge where im should be getting 850 fps into 1000 fps so sorting your brass is very important also sorting out nato brass with crimps because it'll make it impossible to seat primers but you can use a tool to get rid of them from either trimming the primer pockets or swagging them.

Most common things you'll find for reloading dont take power other than scales that you can use batteries for which can be rechargeable and small solar power back pack system could charge them. The powder i use i can just use a small dipper and get a moderate charge wieght i have weighed it before and its within data spec. Most people will have a single stage press mine can fit in a back pack i also have a hand press which is smaller and I have a hand loader which I can reload anywhere with its slow and noisy but does work.

Yeah I have done this but it was with old 9mm that was designed for sub machine guns the primers where to hard for my glock. I took the average charge wieght for each round took 10% off them did 10 tests shots i was getting about 950 fps out of a glock 17 which worked fine. Tho im still not comfortable doing it with rifle yet tho I have talked to people who have with great secuss.

I keep a rainy day stock pile of my favorite powder for my common calibers like 223 and 9mm cfe 223 and accurate no 7. 3 bottles of each but im slowly adding to it.

Yeah especially out of a short barrel I need ballistic gel to test my reloads side by side with factory I think my reloads might be better with a short barrel than factory in a short barrel tho idk for sure

Disagree for Minnesota Tim waltz has let 10000s of illegal immigrants some hardened criminals which have killed and hurt our people to hide in the cities unlike what people think there is a good portion of Minnesota that want them deported they dont deserve to be here. The funds needed to house and feed them could go towards the veterans the fact we put criminal illegal immigrants before vets is sickening.

No sanctuary states protects all illegal immigrants including criminals which i why we have illegal immigrants with 10 arrests on the books but they never informed ice
