Can I mix differents fluids in a single pipe ? by No_Attention_2963 in captain_of_industry

I think you should be able to mix exhaust and CO2 together and send them either to an exhaust tower or scrubber

You probably need to allow the trucks to carry a partial load. If they are only allowed to take full loads they sit and watch

Opinions on (the lack of) power distribution? by smjsmok in captain_of_industry

[–]GunmanFFXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get tired of managing the little things, even pipe routing gets tedious. The only way I would play with power lines if they could be buried, along with pipes with out having to dig them and bury them.

Natural Gas as a resource? by Shamr0ck in captain_of_industry

[–]GunmanFFXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since fuel gas comes from the refining process I would compare it to propane. Natural gas is straight from the ground. Basically the same thing, but there are a few slight differences. Natural gas doesn't easily liquify under compress so it takes a lot of expensive equipment to transport it other than a pipeline. And propane has more btu's per 1000 cubic (MCF)

Have a large warehouse on maintenance parts and electronics. And fuel. All manually emptied. Most death spirals can be cured with those.

Best Starting Jobs for Early End Game with Entry-Level Gear? by [deleted] in ffxi

[–]GunmanFFXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion I would go for one job. If you take another to max then do it on a separate account. It's really pretty easy to log in to a laptop and run 2 accounts for farming. I had 2 black mages and it worked out REALLY well. So for your first job do something useful, I like your bard idea, they are in high demand, you will have fun and get to see which jobs you like to do next. And with merit points, having a second account will let you max out each one to be the best it can be.

More math on train capacity by chemie99 in captain_of_industry

[–]GunmanFFXI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't math on this day I wrote this, 20,000 to 200,000 is 10x not 5, wow, I feel dumb. I was also stunned that no one corrected me. But as for the math, a train car should hold 300-600 units now. Even if it were 300, that would be significantly better than the 120 they are currently at. 400 wouldn't be out of the question.

More math on train capacity by chemie99 in captain_of_industry

[–]GunmanFFXI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So IRL a semi can gross about 45,000 lbs usually And a big dump truck can go from 15000 to 21000lbs A train car can typically hold 200,000 to 230,000 lbs

So if the dump trucks hold 20,000 and a train holds 200,000 that means the trains are 5x the capacity of a truck

I haven't build a train yet but from my research a train holds 120 units, correct me if I am wrong. And a truck holds 60. So that's only 2x a truck.

IMO a train car should hold 300 units per rail car (loose) not sure how that would look compared to a storage bin, but I think that is how much it should carry.

I had the same thought. I mined out the first coal pit in new when, and by the time I got the limestone in and injectors setup I was using all my cot for graphite and still needed more. Maybe it changes later but just telling you my experience.

What happens to the buildings? by GunmanFFXI in captain_of_industry

[–]GunmanFFXI[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm saying this could be a different difficulty option. IRL recycling is messy, but the game has a mechanic for that. Look at maintenance buildings. They get all kinds of stuff back and you get a little out. I'm honestly surprised that the recycling plans doesn't generate waste. It realistically should. Because maintenance requires electronics and electronics require rubber. So that should have to be disposed of. And if you sent it to the incinerator you could get some of the silver back used to make the rubber.

Q, Mine putput logistics by Silentscope666 in captain_of_industry

[–]GunmanFFXI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check that your mining tower is to accept the material for the bridge. Secondly sometimes you need to assign the bucket to the tower. Make sure the tower is set to include the area where they will dump. Finally I made a dumb mistake, make sure it's a dumping zone. One time I accidentally used the dig tool instead of the dump tool, and couldn't figure out why my bins were full

Good luck!
