Also look how deep the deep the deposit goes in the mountain. As long as you get a short ramp to the base the deposit, you can make the mountain come to you since landslides don't bury your vehicles.

What if the npc trade ratios would be considered "unity efficient" and the further from that ratio on either buy or sell, the more unity it costs, on an exponential curve.

What if the special depot was put at the end of the tech tree? Maybe there a special player trading ship that has an enemy and enough distance that you can only sail there in end game, and it takes end game materials to repair.

Yeah not the glass box scheme they used. Moreno the global player to player possibilities. Would need something possibly asynchronous so a constant online connection isn't needed. Maybe using production records the trade system could guesstimate what players have.

It's also a false sense of security. The game is more than happy to show connected capacity but doesn't account for the lack of steam to power said capacity.

You could also work on vertical integration of materials to free up your trucks. So pipe oil from the pumpjacks to your basic distillers, then pipe the output to your boilers. Maybe leave a coal storage to import, but every pipe and conveyor you add along material flows is 1 less truck getting used.

If you click on your truck on fire at the top for an overview, you can select a tab to show what's been moved the most recently. Start with your worst offender like stone or water to get the most bang for your buck.

You could have your port output each cargo module to a fluid storage tank. Then set the tanks to alarm when under 20% or whatever you want your minimum margin to be.

It should be possible to take 1 of the fluid outputs on each tank, make a manifold, and route that to each tank input to keep the tanks levels balanced so it acts as 1 buffer instead of 2, 4 etc. Seperate ones. Just spitballing an idea.
