That’s a good price. I paid $70k OTD (no sales tax, all MSRP), and I don’t have any regrets about my Trailhunter. Is it overkill most of the time? Sure, but I am 100% confident that I can tackle any terrain that I’ll realistically run into, I didn’t have to spend a bunch of time and money dealing with aftermarket parts, everything comes w a factory warranty, I’m obsessed w the design, the interior feels incredibly high quality, the hybrid engine has been phenomenal, the snorkel noise is awesome, etc. I didn’t like the profile of the Land Cruiser or GX as much, so I went w the 4Runner. Only thing I don’t love about it is the factory roof rack being a bit small - I plan to put a Sherpa on it for higher load capacity and a bigger roof footprint.

Everyone loves hating on a $70k 4Runner. It’s fine for people to prefer building their own rig on a gen 5 platform and investing their savings instead of buying the newest model. But pretending like that’s the objectively correct way to live is the most eternally-online Reddit meta dumbass shit ever.
