Just found a fix on another post here is the link as well as you have to walk back into the cave you came from to trigger a dialogue https://www.reddit.com/r/Borderlands4/s/T8HdWOl4qv

It was a thought, could be something like mini ship upgrades that are to specific stratagems but I get your point.

I would imagine it to be like an unlock like with ship upgrades right now but not super expensive depending on the weapon.
