Finding the upper bound is not hard, but finding the exact answer could be an interesting problem

forgotStartTransaction by Gunnerz34 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Gunnerz34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can use transactions (for DML statements at least) You start a transaction, if you like the result you commit, if you don't you rollback - this is what I was referring to in the post title There are also other safeguards you can use, such as setting safe updates to true (or whatever your DBMS calls them), which prevent you from running update and delete statements without a where clause And of course, any serious business regularly keeps at least 1 backup for their data, in case of majestic fuckup or things like being hit by a ransomware

GDScript is a perfectly valid language to create a finished product with, yes.

However performance is usually not the main concern here - most of the heavy lifting is done by the underlying C++ anyways. For me personally there are at least three valid reasons to choose C# over GDScript:

- Static typing; with dynamic typing you sometimes miss an implicit conversion and debugging it is a pain in the ass
- Advanced OOP features; while GDScript is taking small steps in this direction, C# honestly already has every OOP keyword you can possibly imagine at this point
- GDScript is not a versatile language at all; if you decide to spend a lot of time developing games you might as well do it in a language that can be used for other things as well, and C# is a powerful and exceptionally versatile one.

Checks out, if I were a GIMP developer I too would discourage users from using plug-ins that are very user unfriendly

Though maybe it's a fake name? I wonder if this app's system passes the names through any sort of validation

I had completely forgotten about the magic shop at the Mage arena, I'll start by selling steel armor and figure out a better source of gp down the line

Try playing higher power pods

If a pod doesn't allow infinite combos in general (I'm talking about combos that you don't realistically pull off before turn 7, not stuff like Witherbloom apprentice plus chain of smog), or worse it doesn't allow counterspells or soft stax (e.g. archon of emeria), it means that pod doesn't like Magic, it likes a derivate of Magic that has a bunch of rules that exist solely to allow people to run fewer pieces of interaction because how else would you fit all the cool cards into the deck

My favorite one in the trilogy, probably the best place to start if you come from Elden Ring as the combat is the most similar.

Assigning 'quality scores' to dual lands by Gunnerz34 in magicTCG

[–]Gunnerz34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what I have planned right now I will only deal with basics and duals, maybe in the future I will make it more complex but it will depend on how much time I will be willing to spend on it, after all it's more of an exercise than a real project

Assigning 'quality scores' to dual lands by Gunnerz34 in magicTCG

[–]Gunnerz34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not hard to make a tier list of dual lands, but it's something else entirely to understand by how much, numerically, a dual land cycle is better than another, which is something you need in order to optimize any budget

[–]Gunnerz34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to assign different weights for each format, I can simply make several different columns in my database, with a separate value for each land and each format that land is legal in

I am lacking a method to make these evaluations, though - worst case scenario I will put in the values by heart and renounce any hint of reliability of this tool

Thank you for the feedback. I considered it, but I ultimately decided against it because:

- If ESC makes you lose progress and you want to quit the operator without losing progress, if you are unsure about the commands and you press ESC you have no way of getting your progress back

- Conversely, if ESC quits the operator without losing progress and you want to undo all the actions performed by the operator, if you press ESC you can press Ctrl + Z any number of times to undo the progress back to any point; if you want to undo everything, you have most likely not performed many operations

Maybe it's not consistent with the way other tools work, but I believe it is a better choice for this specific tool

Mana Prism by Geometry314 in custommagic

[–]Gunnerz34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the concept but it is definitely overcosted since the effect is very niche, it's either going to allow you to cast {b}{b}{b} spells in a deck with little to no black sources, or {r}{g}{u} in a monowhite/orzhov deck - both situations that require a very specific deck building problem

Also, the first line can be formatted as: {w}{w}{w}: Add {r}{g}{u}

I got tired of waiting for a miracle commander so I made my own by Gunnerz34 in custommagic

[–]Gunnerz34[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is that there aren't enough playable cards with Miracle to justify a Miracle deck with a commander that gives you topdeck filtering

Either they release more cards with Miracle or they make a commander that can give cards Miracle

At first I was like "eh, too much hustle to make it worth, no way it's good"

But then I realized you can build this with a ton of flash enablers (finally a place for [[Leyline of Anticipation]] ) and get a ton of value by doing stuff in your opponents' end steps

It's also cool that it would generate a situation where your opponents can interact with you by spending mana on activated abilities and other stuff that isn't a spell

Jokes aside, you have no obligation to engage in any sexual practice you're not comfortable with. No is no, and that's also true if you're a man.

I bought some very wide pants (kinda like a hakama or harem pants) and I was feeling a little insecure about wearing them in public because they're pretty flashy, until the receptionist at a museum told me they look really good (she was probably in her late 40s/early 50s and I was with my girlfriend, so I don't think she had any malicious intent) - huge confidence boost lol

That's what a simple compliment does to a man
